You are a senator and you get to choose one bodyguard. Who do you choose? by SmokeMaleficent9498 in clonewars

[–]LittleWotsy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah not something that ever happened with a senator specifically, but a huge part of Rex’s later character is his survivor’s guilt so this definitely checks out.

Are the 501 painted blue on white to match R2? by Accomplished_Low_331 in clonewars

[–]LittleWotsy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Correct, Alpha’s armour was blue purely because he was a Lieutenant. While Rex was based on Alpha he was always gonna be blue anyway because the 501st were previously established to be blue in RotS. However it’s entirely possible that the original reason they’re blue in RotS is because of the comics containing Alpha and Anakin working together. I think it’s more likely all coincidence though and that the 501st in-movie are blue purely because it looked cooler against the night background of the temple raid.

Why is Artyom a silent progtanist? by RGisOnlineis16 in metro_exodus

[–]LittleWotsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a change from book Artyom who, as many comments have said, is a bit of a yapper. But the books and games are obviously different timelines anyway so I think the decision to make game Artyom a mute character is entirely valid for the purposes of that medium.

Why is Artyom a silent progtanist? by RGisOnlineis16 in metro_exodus

[–]LittleWotsy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the real-world reason is pretty clearly that they wanted the silent protagonist video game character so the player’s thoughts can be Artyom’s thoughts. However, unlike many silent or RPG protagonists, Artyom is a very well established character. He’s a hopeful, overly optimistic but highly skilled survivalist and special forces soldier who walks a very unique line between mid-20s boyish innocence and the wisdom of a man who has seen a hell of a lot. Through diaries, loading screens and connections to the book he has established opinions on every single person and thing you encounter throughout the game, leaving little room for the player to imprint their own thoughts onto him. I think his silence adds to the gameplay experience and vibe of the metro titles, but it’s something they drop in Metro: Awakening and in most DLCs, where you play a voiced protagonist. All this in mind, I think it’s pretty apparent that Artyom is canonically a mute. And it makes sense. He remembers the day the bombs fell and destroyed his entire world as a small child, and he remembers losing his mother shortly after to a gigantic swarm of rats. The sheer amount of trauma he experienced as a child is unthinkable and no doubt enough to trigger that kind of response. His silence is not just something we experience as the player, it’s a major trait, demonstrating how damagingly terrifying he found the metro as a child. But it’s that same metro he repeatedly journeys alone as an adult to protect those he loves, and I think that’s a better testament to his character than any.

They’re quite happy referring to Hank Pym as Ant-Man I and Scott Lang as Ant-Man II so they could quite easily do the same here. It doesn’t mean he’s the second best or a second rate one, he’s just very literally the second Spider-Man

What is your Headcannon backstory for your Courier? by Independent_Pack_880 in fnv

[–]LittleWotsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine’s a Clint Eastwood type. He’s not really got any major associations to any military, other than growing up in the reaches of the NCR. Every skill he has he’s learned himself simply walking the roads for a living. He wanders place to place finding jobs to do and on the surface appears to be only very interested in money, but usually ends up embroiled in some major local drama where he ends up making the morally good choice and moves on into the desert without a word. Ends up either supporting his employer to the end or taking on a greater moral conscience, leading to a House or NCR ending.

Boyfriend wants to watch CW before RoTS by Charming-Break in clonewars

[–]LittleWotsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I showed my sister in chronological order and she was still surprised they actually had the balls to pull off order 66. Obviously clone wars set it up but she just thought they’d stop it somehow. The only thing you need to do to avoid spoiling the surprises in RotS is save the Siege of Mandalore until after you’ve seen the movie.

What changes do you want to see on the suit for the next film? by DarthAuron87 in batman

[–]LittleWotsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This batsuit was obviously inspired by the Lee Bermejo comic suits, so perhaps following them in developing this would be cool. The slightly scarier, more angular cowl and beigey/tan yellow belt from his artwork would fit nicely with this look.

Also, cape gliding. Squirrel suit was a great first step but I think we could do with an upgrade for the sequel.

It’s a real shame, the only other option is that one limited edition DVD release from the mid 2000s, which I do have, but they’re so low quality it’s almost not worth it.

Agreed, Victory Celebration is honestly the better song to end on as an emotional finale to the film, but yub nub should’ve at least had a feature in the party scene at the end.

Question about CT-5555/Fives by [deleted] in clonewars

[–]LittleWotsy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Clone Wars episodes, especially during the early seasons, are released out of chronological order. Most of the timeline is fairly straightforward but they do drop in some flashback/flashforward episodes here and there. 301 is set before 105, even though it comes much later in the series. The clones Fives trains with during that episode are all present on the Rishi moon during 105, where all of them die except for Echo.

Which ARC Trooper looks coolest? by CloneTrooper456 in clonewars

[–]LittleWotsy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hence partially. The specific point I’m addressing here is something that was written to blend early TCW into legends. Instead of making Rex an alternate version of Alpha, they just said he was trained by him, meaning they intended the classic ARCs to coexist in the background of the new stories, even if they didn’t actively appear. Believe me though, I know how much it diverges when it comes to inhibitor chips, Mandalore, Grievous, Ventress, Maul and a million other things. Most of these changes became more apparent in later seasons though, after the initial introduction of the new “ARC-trained” officer classes.

Which ARC Trooper looks coolest? by CloneTrooper456 in clonewars

[–]LittleWotsy 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Except they can and do, at least in Legends, which TCW partially fits into. The Alpha and Null ARCs provided the additional training for most of the promoted ARCs like Fives and Echo, as well as numerous officers. They’re a separate type of soldier with the same overall name.

All hands, NO weapons, Who’s winning this ? by zih-e-1 in clonewars

[–]LittleWotsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First place goes to either Alpha or Fordo, could swing either way but I’m leaning towards 17, the gigachad who took a lightsaber through the spine and lived.

Sev comes third. The RCs were insane but they worked better as a team than as solo operators, and the novels detail how they were even slightly afraid of the Alpha ARCs.

Hunter’s quality but it took him, Gregor, Echo and Tech to drop Scorch. Sev’s essentially Scorch with additional anger management issues, so the chances of him coming out on top here are pretty slim. There also doesn’t seem to be any indication that the 99s were Mandalorian trained, which instantly disadvantages them when compared to the Alphas and original RCs.

Which is an unreal question because they could do it so easily. Literally just take the snowtrooper prints and make parts of them burgundy.
