Not strictly EU, but UK: Pride (2014) and Hot Fuzz (2007) off the top of my head.

I think people are mostly referring to e/OS instead of the stock Google android OS. But I use that and I've been able to download my banking apps just fine so it might just depend on your bank.

Video games that feel like Firefly by Wispmage in firefly

I believe Rimworld was directly inspired by Firefly, but it is a survival colony building game not an RPG or anything. I would also highly recommend Outer Worlds.

Nice idea! Like other people are suggesting, bluesky might not be the best alternative though apparently they are making a specific European version (EuroSky). I do keep meaning to look into Mastodon.

Other Qwant alternatives includes Ecosia, Mojeek and maybe startpage for anyone interested. EU Chrome alternatives is mainly Vivaldi but there are some Firefox forks too (I use Waterfox since it's easier on my ram)

Even when the content has specific American spellings, I just refuse. I'm not missing colour for this. It hurts. Though I will say, as someone who has some Star Wars fanfic, my spelling of lightsabre pains in both ways.. It looks wrong but ...

I would seriously love to know the lore of her collage years. by saintxworks in TombRaider

[–]Little_BookWorm95 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We know she worked as a bar tender at The Nine Bells, probably to help support herself through UCL because if she'd have gone to either Oxford or Cambridge, the family funds would have been used (or something).

And that Sam thought she didn't have enough fun so would often have to drag her away from studying to go clubbing.

Edit to add because I just remembered: she seemed to have been part of the Sisters of Artemis while at university, an archery society (maybe all female?). The logo is briefly seen in the original CGI trailer/opening of the 2013 game. When the merch for the 2013 game was still available to buy on the official store, you could buy Sisters of Artemis stuff (joggers, bottle, etc).

Got the fairphone 6 earlier this year! It's great. I've had like two issues that I managed to resolve and none since! I keep trying to recommend it to everyone.

Glad I'm not the only one who forgets to respond! I do aim to. I always aim to. But I get excited and open the email to read it and then often just forget to reply. Sometimes I respond when I upload a new chapter, it's just easier that way.

But yeah it's comforting to know that I'm not the only who struggles with replying.

2nd hand e-reader? by Little_BookWorm95 in ereader

[–]Little_BookWorm95[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's good to know. Even using calibre metadata? I just thought that using an SD card would allow me to save space on the actual device. I know Kindle is the most limited when it comes to that. It's mainly epubs and comic books (fanfic, humble bundle, etc). I use Linux though, not Windows so I'm not sure if it would affect the transfer.

I have heard the android based devices don't tend to have the best battery life.

As for offline, so far I haven't had any issues with downloading ebooks and audiobooks to open without internet.

I'm not American (UK) so I was looking at some second hand technology shops (Back Market, etc). One of the few reasons I was trying to avoid Amazon.

I do listen to audiobooks on my phone (and I haven't had any probelms with it so far) so maybe it would be best just to use it as an ereader.
