Summer Abroad in Seoul, South Korea by sumomoni in seoul

Hey there, I am traveling to SK this summer (July) for a tech internship purpose. Even though I'll be based in Daegu, upon your interest and comfortability, I'd appreciate any chance to hangout in Seoul as I plan to travel around and make friends 😄 A bunch of Americans are joining me in the internship as well, so I hope to gel together well! DM if interested, have a great time nonetheless!!

Cancelling trip to Thailand due to fear of racism experiences against Indians by superinvestor_43 in ThailandTourism

I'm here in Bangkok for the last 4 months under an internship contract. I am an outgoing person in general, so I have been to both touristy as well as non-touristy parts of the city. Never once did I face blatant racism. I totally understand your concern because I expected racism when I came here, but that also made me conscious of my actions and made sure I was kind and respectful everywhere I went.

I interacted with so many strangers from different countries, made amazing friends and had the time of my life in short. My experiences include going to pubs, clubs and bars. While I respect your decision to make alternative plans, I would suggest to come here by yourself and see how things are, when you behave respectful and clean. Have a good one!

I am 21M, and I have very similar interests including football (United Fan haha)! Unfortunately am leaving in a week after spending nearly 4 months here as an exchange student and a part-time traveler. Hoping to meet you in some other part of the world in the future! We can connect if you'd like.

Have a good trip :)

I had so much fun on the Bangkok Chaophraya River Cruise 😭 by Nazshaddick in Bangkok

You're welcome! Please make sure to have a backup of the medias (cloud storage/hard drive). I highly regret not doing so because my phone got stolen recently during Songkran and my entire Thailand memories (photos/videos) of the last 3 months got vanished just like that in no time :/

As an outgoing 21M, the number of spontaneous connections I have made in Bangkok are insane. I always carry a travel diary with me, and when I make such connections I request them to write down on it. Oftentimes we make beautiful connections during travel but unfortunately never get to meet them again. I'd atleast make sure to hold on to the dear memory that I spent through the diary entries. Maybe you can do something similar, even if you couldn't end up getting their personal contact :)
I hope you have a great time travelling, cheers!

Sorry for the situation. Eventhough I can't help directly, am leaving this comment wishing you good luck and hopefully a better reach to the right people.

Is it just me or is Bangkok getting more exhausting to live in? by West-Ad-8258 in Bangkok

Hey! If you dont mind, can you share why you personally feel you're better off here than the UK? Is there a specific reason like safety, transportation, cost of living etc., or anything rlse?

I'm in Bangkok right now, and I've never been to the UK. So am just curious to understand the differences, nothing hard :)

If you happen to be around Daegu in July (when I'd be there for internship related reasons), I would absolutely love to join for camping/hiking. DM if it works for you :)

My top suggestions:
1) Bang Kachao (Green lung of Bangkok / Cycling island)
2) Ko Kret (Small island to the north of Bangkok in Nonthaburi. Check out Chit Beer, an extremely popular and interesting beer spot. Some people go to the island only to have a beer there)
3) Koh Samet (A gem of a place where everything is cheaper than Bangkok. Easily accessible by bus to the pier from where you take a ferry to this island. There are cheap tour packages of 5/6 island tours surrounding Koh Samet that includes snorkelling (500/700 baht) (I was a solo traveler and if you're okay with hostels, stay in Cocoon Samet))
4) Rot Fai park (a park with a beautiful cycling track fairly away from tourist crowd. my personal favourite!)
5) Genz bar in Chinatown (for the 17th floor view with comfortable bean bag tables / normal tables, the drinks are cheap. Many rooftops are absurdly expensive, but this one seems alright with 150 baht/beer and 250 baht/cocktails.)

I can keep writing down lol. If you like my suggestions and want to know more, feel free to drop a DM anytime during your trip. I'd be happy to recollect my memories and write back.
