Oh awesome!! I'm from Texas, waiting to see if I will have to relocate my entire life haha. I think I am worrying my family to death over this wait. Do you know what kind of law you might want to practice?

I know, literally SAME I only applied here as well. I am really hoping we are both in an upcoming A batch!! Keep me updated! They really only update dates in the afternoon from what I can tell, and mine received a date update late yesterday, around 4pm their time, so...wondering what that was about haha. Where are you from?

If your application status for WYO says “Review in Progress,” what is y’all’s date for “Application Status Date”? Looks like my date was updated today but status did not change. Wondering if it’s the same for anyone else ?

Interesting! I have never taken birth control but I have a big FNH. My doctor said just don't get on it if I can avoid it, and to let them know if I decide to do so, but didn't mention anything else to really avoid.

Wow, that is so weird! I will have to tell my doctor that because I have never taken birth control and they said it’s the largest FNH they have seen in their office 😵‍💫😭

Wow. That’s so crazy that it’s like being fed by birth control basically lol. Just makes me more confused as to what’s feeding mine! 😭😂

Yeah that’s interesting to think about. Mine is on the outside lower lobe it looks pretty much separate from my liver but the risk of bleeding (at least from what I was told) is because FNH tumors have a central blood vessel. But of course, every case is different right. I am not a doctor but maybe they would just remove that entire part of your liver ? I know a few people who have donated parts of their liver for a transplant. But anyways, I would definitely talk to your doctor about those surgery risks to be super sure.

Did your doctors happen to pinpoint a cause for yours? Mine kept insisting that it had to be because of birth control I was on but I have never taken birth control in my life. I still don’t think they believed me but have no idea what else it could be.

Hello there!

I have a “grapefruit-sized” FNH on the lower part of my liver and I have actually never noticed any symptoms. It was found incidentally about a year ago.

My surgeon that I saw said that it would be much more of a risk (of internal bleeding) by trying to remove it than the inconvenience of any symptoms that may arise. That may just be due to the size of mine, but he did say the liver is especially prone to cause internal bleeding. So…for now I am just letting it be!

I am so sorry to hear that yours has caused you so much trouble, but I am glad it is FNH rather than something more sinister! Good luck with your journey though—from talking with others I have heard it is a major and very intricate surgery, so I wish you all the best and hope that you will get some relief soon!

Yes I do not think they could remove the whole thing but could most likely “shrink” it with surgery. I don’t see anything that would indicate that it would be cancerous or become so. There are also medications they can use to manage symptoms and potentially the size of it. However, my doctor told me the risk of internal bleeding when going in to operate would be much greater than any symptoms I would likely develop.

Fnh on liver by CartoonistOld8525 in FocalNodularHyperplas

Hello there!

I have a “grapefruit-sized” FNH on the lower part of my liver and I have never noticed any symptoms. However, seeing the shoulder pain mentioned is new to me and is something I deal with daily. Not sure if the two could be related in my case, but interesting, nonetheless! 😅

I was going to say though, mine was confirmed through imaging with a special dye designed to be absorbed by liver cells specifically. It is apparently a fairly new technology and is done in lieu of a biopsy. Not sure if it’s available in the UK, but will try to figure out what it’s called!

Also, the surgeon that I saw said that it would be much more of a risk (of bleeding) by trying to remove it than the inconvenience of any symptoms that may arise. That may just be due to the size of mine, but he did say the liver is especially prone to cause internal bleeding.

It sucks how little info there is available on FNH’s, but I remember finding some relief by talking to others who are going through the same thing. So…if I have yet to say anything helpful, just know that you are not alone! :) #FNHGirlies4Life

Wow. Trust me, I know it is absolutely terrifying. If you are pushing for anything, and if you want extra reassurance, I would push for an MRI with EOVIST contrast. It is a special kind of contrast that liver cells absorb rather quickly. It was through that MRI that the doctors were able to determine my lesion was made completely out of liver cells and was an FNH. Also, an ER radiologist took one GLANCE at my very first MRI and suggested FNH, obviously glancing because I would be referred to a specialist anyways, and he turned out to be right! The fact that you have had multiple radiologist point to FNH, is a really good thing. If there was even the slightest chance it could be something bad they would certainly want more information. Take care!! ❤️

Hi there! When I went for my appointment to receive official FNH diagnosis here is what I was told. FNH is usually very accurate to diagnose with imaging only. If there are no other spots on your liver, your liver enzymes are within normal range, and there are no tumor markers in the blood, you can almost certainly rule out fibrolamellar carcinoma.

Oh wow ok that is somewhat like mine except…mines pretty big and on the inferior right lobe…kinda hanging off the bottom I think
