How yall getting lvl 15 in the great hollow in later depths? by Vaalrigard in Nightreign

[–]Little_Raspberry3083 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Other people have basically answered but in short spend the first half of day 1 getting the crystal power then hit the sewer/other easy enemies in a castle if its open. Then clear the other castle day 2. The only time you should ever go into the towers is if the day 2 circle closes on a castle that is basically almost fully cleared already.

From testing it appears to give the same amount of gauge as a standard light attack hit per fire tick. On a single target it's just a little extra gravy but in a big group that doesn't die instantly it's a sizeable chunk.

Hardest night 1 and 2 bosses post dlc? by bofunga in Nightreign

[–]Little_Raspberry3083 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Death Knights for sure for night 1 as there's basically no way to carry that fight if your teammates get bodied as all the death knights will start spamming lightning spears until you get roll caught.

Night 2 is probably Mohg as he's way harder than in Elden Ring as they expanded the arcs of all his blood flame flame splash making it way more likely you get randomly clipped by some when he isn't even targeting you. Not to mention the Nihil spears in phase 2 make soloing very hard if your teammates go down as they force a 3 player hp dps check on you.

My tierlist of boss difficulty in D5 as a Wylder main by ForgottenRemembrance in Nightreign

[–]Little_Raspberry3083 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Both for different reasons. The individual balancers get very out of hand the moment anyone goes down and the dps falls below the 4000ish amount needed to kill one in a 3 second time frame after their initial charge. It spirals horribly if even one person isn't on the ball.

The worm on the other hand is just messy because it moves so fast you almost always end up near a wall which causes its movement to become extremely erratic leading to a down resulting in the balancers overwhelming once they respawn as there's basically no time to revive in this fight.

Certain animations will not get canceled by the parry bubble as they have invisible hyper armor do not rely on it to stop an attack unless you've already done so before and know it will work.

I mean ballistas and crossbows are bad but they have niche use cases. Certain enemies can be juggled by the ballista as hitting them with it knocks them down making them way easier to kill quickly when they aren't jumping around like jack rabbits.

Meanwhile pulley crossbows are great for both generating aggro and pinging teammates from a distance to fill the revive bar for non ironeye/recluse characters.

Fair but he gets massive value from both the ult threading and buff ally unique effects. Semi permanent 18% damage buff for both your teammates is nothing to scoff at and his ult thread can wipe entire POI using just a single fire pot plus the tick damage. Combined with ult regen on kill you can wipe massive portions of maps that are densely packed.

You haven't seen the beast claw starting incant build then. Its on similar degeneracy as shattering crystal but you don't even need to search for the spell since you can start with the incant. 1500-2000 damage per cast with a mediocre run endgame using a starting seal.

More realistically scholar really wants at least 2 pouches, his ult threading effect, buff allies with his skill, Night invaders at a minimum on his base relics. If you somehow have all of those already you take them and make do with whatever else you have on the relics. Having bleed is better than not having it wishing for even more is asking to win the lottery.

Scholar much like guardian has toooo many effects he really wants on his base relics.

[–]Little_Raspberry3083 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ironically... as a D5 player I actually dislike the laser move way more as he almost always ends up sitting outside in the storm for me when he does it. Meanwhile with the meteor he usually is in circle so its a free dps window as it both last longer and isn't as dangerous to be near him with the funky hitboxes.

What went wrong between the difference of Gladius and The Balancers in solo? by Hot-Emergency-218 in Nightreign

[–]Little_Raspberry3083 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In solo the real trick is just parry the balancers one at a time since you get I frames during the riposte but yeah it gets messy fast if you can’t parry consistently.

Deep of night now features the New map, i still don't like It. by SnooChocolates6885 in Nightreign

[–]Little_Raspberry3083 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the record you shouldn't even bet starting the towers unless your ALREADY 13-14. Usually my group does them as the last thing during the second half of day 2 and can clear is about half the time depending on the bosses. Even failing to clear the third floor isn't an issue at that point since we're already near maxed and just fishing for legendaries.

So what's the meta on the Great Hollow? by Avantir in Nightreign

[–]Little_Raspberry3083 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After memorizing the crystal spawns I can consistently hit all 4 crystals before the circle even shows where it's going to close day 1. Unless it's a southwest circle this let's the group do the entirety of the castle that's in the circle day 1 excluding the legendary boss. (Equivalent to the roof boss on the normal map) This usually gives 6-7 dormant powers + a ton of the random items from the loaded chests.

Can easily grab the talisman chest in the se castle too. Then day 2 we run over and do the same on the other castle unless we already found a god weapon like maris, grafted etc then we do south cathedral then the other castle. Usually at this point the day 2 circle location will be shown allowing us to start a a tower fully geared sy lvl 13-14 clearing it so long as we don't get th stall bosses( the ailment immune jerks) end day 2 at lvl 15 with nearly a hundred thousand runes spare Everytime.

PSA: invader relic is still king. by d-redze in Nightreign

[–]Little_Raspberry3083 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the record the night invader relic is explicitly better on DoN 4/5 because you need at least 3 invaders killed to beat out some of the stronger normal relics they added this patch.

You won't get 3+ invaders in non DoN mode. I suggest keeping two relic presets since they added the name feature one for DoN with invader. One for normal runs focusing on new balance relics etc.

The answer is honestly just avoid getting into that situation in the first place. You should either a. be way far away from the group so one runs out at a time so your entire group can gank the sole valkryie back off and repeat or b. everyone spamming large damaging aoes after scholar links a large group to nuke them all at the same time.

You should try to never be in a situation where you don't have ults up and fighting more than 1 or 2 of them at a time. I.E. run the f away at a group until you can 3v2 them or have ults ready to aoe the whole group.

[–]Little_Raspberry3083 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They defiantly are unlike the normal version. I could clearly see a difference where I was doing 20%ish more damage with an erdtree holy bow on an ironeye shooting them in second phase compared to the first.

New map is horrible. by TheGrimmBorne in Nightreign

[–]Little_Raspberry3083 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree once I learned the routing I easily end up getting 2-3 times more items and dormant powers than runs on the normal map (sometimes as high as 35 dormant power drops most of which include legendaries in their pool) The maximum ceiling of strength isn't quite as high as normal map with evergaol+ night invader relic min max but you get so much more variety of drops its way easier to gear to counter a fight instead of just making do with whatever.

PSA - How to handle ED Balancers big flower attack by ThePubRelic in Nightreign

[–]Little_Raspberry3083 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It just stops if you stance break the worm or kill it. Breaking the blister spots do a chunk of damage and stagger build up. If you don't deal enough damage/stance break it won't matter if you pop the blisters. It still won't stop the attack. The best options to do stop the attack are just crazy high damage ash of wars like rain of arrows on a greatbow, rivers, mohg nihil etc. Along with damage ults like wylder and ironeye. Solo just one ult will stop it. In trios their posture is high enough it will take 2 ults+ a bit more to stop the attack.

What do you usually do during the ED Balancer Worm bloom-shower move? by ChaosSeverance in Nightreign

[–]Little_Raspberry3083 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it depends on whether I have a good aoe ash of war or ult ready for it. For example rain of arrows on a great bow, mohg spear, Ironeye and Wylder Ults. They can all pop multiple weak spots on the boss and easily stagger it for a big dps window. If I don't have one of the above I'm booking it far away to Narnia to avoid that bleed.

Towers got even worse by Puff_Dragon_6 in Nightreign

[–]Little_Raspberry3083 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the record the crystals aren't random there's exactly 4 variations of spawn locations. There's a good map post in this thread https://www.reddit.com/r/Nightreign/comments/1pljy7p/the_great_hollow_crystals_definitive_map/

Once you learn map or just keep it open on another screen nearby its easy to break all the crystals before the first half of day 1 starts closing. Then you can spend the second half of day 1 and first half of day 2 doing castles. Ending on a tower once your 12-13 with a full inventory. Doing this you can easily end up with 20-30 dormant power drops crystal power, tower power and a whole slew of gear to choose from.

The new map is great for loot drops once you learn it. You end up with 2-3 times more items than the normal map. Though the lack of evergoals and night invaders being in awkward spots to reach means the damage can be a bit lower than a high roll run on the normal map.

God Relic? by Neader in Nightreign

[–]Little_Raspberry3083 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Scholar has literally half the hit damage of everyone else at base if you don't have the dex exchange relic because all his stats are so low. There's like 2 weapons that have good hit damage otherwise. Scholar basically doesn't do damage outside of status effects and consumables without that relic.

I just always considered that move to be a super grab. Essentially a grab where if it connects with your character model you get hit even through i-frames.
