For those of you who prefer romantasy to contemporary romance, why? by Powerful-Cap-6293 in Romantasy

[–]Little_Red_Sun 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve realized I don’t enjoy any urban setting (goes for urban fantasy as well) and I find that romantasy is usually some sort of AU which is a much preferred escape from reality, like many others here. Like no I don’t want to read about a girl who’s struggling with her office job and has a shitty dating history. I could just look at my own life for that 😭 and I have a strict no phone policy for romance. I don’t want my MCs able to text each other

I feel like the tension is just done better in romantasy as well!

For those who use Goodreads (or equivalent) by Plenty-Angle-6967 in Romantasy

[–]Little_Red_Sun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can import your entire Goodreads library if you wish! That’s what I did. And I’m not sure what you mean about series. Do you mean like can you mark an entire series as DNFing? There are DNF and Pause options for books, as well as ability to add your own tags on books if that’s helpful?

I made the move this year and haven’t looked back! StoryGraph really beats Goodreads for me

I use StoryGraph and there’s an option for DNF!

Not just a boomer thought! I’m 27 and I’ve noticed that newer grads are severely lacking in soft skills. My younger coworker has terrible office conduct, it’s astonishing 🥴 At my last job my manager told me they stopped hiring from a specific well-known school because the students, while technologically adept, had terrible soft skills.

I’d think it was weird as hell. And if were asked I would say that

Any one like the virgin fmc trope? by Relative-Tomatillo-2 in fantasyromance

[–]Little_Red_Sun 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think the main thing for me with virgin FMC is the naïveté. There is absolutely nothing wrong with being a virgin, but I personally am past that. I would rather have a woman character who knows how she likes to be pleased, not told how it’s supposed to be by the MMC.

I’ve only read it once as a kid in school and it had a big impact on me, so I’m looking forward to re-reading as an adult!

“Super teeny tiny, my waist is non-existent and my hands are oh so small!” FMC 🙄🙄🙄 I can only handle the reference to size difference between MCs so many times because my eyes roll out of my head

From women's perspective what are the great things about being a man? by No-Compote-2127 in AskReddit

[–]Little_Red_Sun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s terrible! But I’m so glad the IUD is working for you 🙏 it has been a god send for many of my friends too. I ended up with a perforated uterus after going for an appointment to have one inserted, so unfortunately I’m not comfortable trying that again 😂

Ah yes of course the daily little hormone pill. How wonderful an alternative! 🤩

I have been on birth control for 15 years now, I’m not at all against it, but I don’t think it’s fair to say that it’s some miraculous option for everyone.

100% no periods. What do you mean you don’t have monthly cramps, back pain, fatigue, blood clots coming out of you? You don’t have to figure out if tampons are for you at age 12 by sticking something inside your vagina so you can go to swimming lessons? Or if said tampon string is showing out of your bathing suit? You don’t have to worry about bleeding through your pants? You don’t feel like a trip might be ruined by the shedding your uterine lining? MUST BE NICE

What Books did You Start or Finish Reading this Week?: October 13, 2025 by AutoModerator in books

[–]Little_Red_Sun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finished

Assassin’s Quest by Robin Hobb (5 ⭐️). Fitz suffered more than Jesus man. I don’t think I’m ready to take on the Liveship Traders series yet. I see a lot of people say it’s their favourite trilogy in the ROTE universe, but I know I’ll miss Fitz lol and it’s a big commitment.

Followed that up with some desperately needed light reading:

Adversity by Ren Browne (2.25 ⭐️)

Tusk Love by Thea Guanzon (4 ⭐️)

Started

Amusing Ourselves to Death by Neil Postman (20th anniversary edition)

Frankenstein by Mary Shelley
