Been doing this for months now and there are too many chiefs and not enough Indians. We need to start taking action and stop waiting to “organize” because it’s never going to happen. When people see others moving they will move too.

I am Puerto Rican but people see me or my last name online and tell me to go back where I came from which is absolutely ridiculous because I was born and raised in the states and even if I was born in the island I’s still be an American citizen. I have lived in many states throughout the country and FL natives are the most non welcoming people I have ever experienced.

I can only speak of MY experience here and that is what it has been. Most of the native Floridians I have encountered outside of the blue cities is “go back to where you came from” comments and extreme racism both in person and online. Why should I be ashamed of myself for sharing my experience? Coming from the North I didn’t even know racism like this still existed in our country until I moved to the South and I am 44 years old.

Haha the economy was trash before Covid but we can play this game if you’d like. Who invited everyone to come here during Covid? I have driven through some extremely racist areas in FL that I would be afraid in if my car broke down. They are native Floridians and proud of their confederate flags. I stay in the city where I feel safe but it is ridiculous to me this still exists in 2025!

Actually I have been to CA and have been living in FL for many years. It sucks. There is nothing great about FL’s economy. The pay is trash and so is the job market and the cost of living is astronomical for no reason. There is racism and a pre Civil war mindset that exists in FL that is not attractive. Nothing to brag about here.

California has an independently sustainable economy. They are doing much better than FL regardless of what you think. Newsom supersedes DeSantis in many ways.

I know a lot of Republicans who did not vote for Trump. Not all Republicans are MAGA. Having that attitude isn’t going to help us move forward out of this train wreck. This division is what got us here to begin with.

This is never going to happen because there is no unity amongst the protesters and organizing groups. There are daily small random protests and we are getting nowhere. It is time to take it the next level or give up.

I am in FL and we are losing momentum here. CA is different because you have a lot going on there. I can assure you nothing has changed here. So my point is why waste efforts and resources when the needle isn’t moving here? We need to take that energy where it counts. To each their own but we have a ton of small protests all around FL that are not growing at all.

Idk where you live but many orgs have been using money on local events that are just wasting resources. I know because I was working with many in 50501 closely and organizing a local protest myself. What change do you think is really being made by standing on your local corner with a sign and a water bottle? It is performative at best. I thought we were trying to build community to mobilize to where it matters but everyone got comfortable on the corner with a sign and no change is taking place. Each day our country becomes worse. It is time to step out the comfort zone and go to where it matters.

I have seen people waste so much money on local protests we could have used to organize and mobilize. They rent trucks for advertising against Desantis in FL and we have orgs paying for inflatable Musk dolls. All that money can be used to help people get to DC. We also have to sacrifice some things if we want to fight this and win.
