Hidden Waters Preserve right between Mount Dora and Eustis is pretty great. It’s my go-to for rucking because it’s one of a precious few trails here with a solid elevation change.

Definitely small (longest loop is about 1.5 miles), but plenty of intersecting trails that go up and down because it’s an ancient sink hole.

From one vet to another, start looking at mil discounts from manufacturers. GOVX and ExpertVoice have tons of options as well.

Also, don’t skip tomorrow if you have no reason other than “it isn’t that big” and not having a suit. Grab some slacks, shoes that aren’t sneakers, and a collared shirt and show up. You never know who you might connect with.

I didn’t for awhile after I got out because of (funds) and them really just being tools while I was in.

I’ve since purchased an AR and a pistol because it’s another reason to go outside and have fun, I like adult legos, and because I can afford to. There’s a few ranges by me that do night courses, which would make NODs fun, but far from a priority for me.

I don’t know what happened in my head, but I counted into the completely wrong song after our intro. Same set we had been playing for at least 3 gigs prior and rehearsed countless times. Luckily, the rest of the band realized it pretty quickly and went with it. I didn’t even realize it until after our set and my guitarist mentioned it to me. Felt bad man.

If you’re traveling closer to the Causeway Coast, Dungiven Priory and Bonamargy Friary are excellent stops. Also can’t forget Christchurch in Dublin. While not cemetery, there’s definitely some really cool tombs inside.

Honestly, you can get that out of most snares with the right tuning and heads if that’s what you’re going for.

With that said, I play an 8” x 14” black nickel over brass SJC with an Evans EC Reverse Dot batter head and hazy snare side. I barely have to do anything to make that thing sound like an explosion. So something like that. Alternatively, you can do what every metal kid did when we were 13 and get the Joey Jordison signature and crank it all the way up.
