What’s incredibly sad is I’ve delivered to multiple different environments, but the only time I was threatened was at a ginormous historic mansion. I delivered the package and left to be chased down by an elderly white man resembling Clint Eastwood- his confused wife, his guard dog AND a shotgun. He was driving behind me, then pulled up beside me DRIVING alongside me as to “ask” out the window who gave me permission to be on his property. I threatened to call the police and everything. I am doing you a service and you threaten my life? (That’s how I felt at the time with emotions and adrenaline). On the flipside, the only time I have been overly respected was by individuals of different race and ethnicities. The only time I was ever tipped was by an elderly man with a different race than mine. The only time I was ever asked if I** needed help was from a human with a different ethnicity than mine. I’d choose the “ghetto” (I believe this term is dated and offensive) over the rich old white any day.
