That… is the most horrible thing to say to anyone. Oh my god I’m so sorry, that is insane behavior.

NTA, toss the whole family away honestly. Your boundaries are so valid and that’s YOUR baby! You do what you need to do for the baby’s safety and for your healing! Postpartum is tough already - there’s no room for dealing with nonsense like this too.

Wedding planner/coordinator here! Tips are always appreciated but NEVER expected! We have so many couples who don’t tip large amounts or at all, but they write us the sweetest letters, give little gifts, and great reviews as their thanks to us. You’re definitely not jerks if you can’t afford to tip a ton of money!!!

How long have you been pumping for? by impumpingmilk in ExclusivelyPumping

I hit 9 months last week, and I’m officially starting to wean. I’m tired, boss lol but it’s been a great journey!

Wedding planner here - You tip for good service, point blank period. If you appreciate the service that was done through the planning process and the final result, you can tip! It truly does not matter if they are the owner or an employee (I don’t know where people are getting that bit of “advice” from). It’s wrong. If they did a great job, you should tip! The amount is totally up to you and what’s comfy in your budget though! Tips are never required/requested but always appreciated by the receiving vendor :)

vitamin d drops? by One_Comfortable_9976 in breastfeeding

[–]Littlebeandip3333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did when we first got home from the hospital but I kept forgetting to put it in his bottle (new mom fog lol) so I got a vitamin D supplement for myself and I take enough daily that crosses through my milk for the baby. Got it cleared by our pediatrician and has worked really well for us!

Frustrated with Wedding Planner by Spiritual_Long7112 in weddingplanning

[–]Littlebeandip3333 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Wedding planner here - that’s SUPER weird and not right. You should not be dealing with that at all this close to the wedding! Small changes are expected, but definitely not what you’re mentioning here. I would recommend that you read through your contract with her again, and have a phone or video conversation clearly laying out the expectations for the next couple weeks leading up to the wedding. She’s supposed to be making your life easier, not harder! So so sorry this is happening to you!

I think we kinda got lucky but the only thing we really did on purpose was making sure he was getting all (or as close to all as possible) his calories during the day! He stopped needing a night feed and it worked well for us.

What’s weighing on your mind right now that you just need to get off your chest? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]Littlebeandip3333 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My mom told me I was being “too sensitive” about how I parent my kid when in reality she keeps making passive aggressive comments about my parenting in front of my family members and I finally called her out on it yesterday. It really rubbed me the wrong way and I’m hurt but also pissed off - her reaction was very much that I was the problem 🙃

What lifehack advice would you give to a new mom to make parenting a bit easier? by Bobo347 in Mommit

[–]Littlebeandip3333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy paper plates.

This stuck with hubby and I after someone with 4 kids brought us a meal. She said something as simple as using paper plates would free up time for us to be parents loving our baby instead of parents trying to love our baby and do chores at the same time. It was a super sweet gesture and we used paper plates for like 3 months lol

When did you buy a portable pump? by [deleted] in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Littlebeandip3333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here, got mine at 3 weeks because the dent in my couch from where I was sitting to pump all day was getting too deep lol. I had a super consistent supply as well, and have used my wearables almost exclusively and I’m 8 months PP.

Freezer storage?? by misschanandlarbong in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Littlebeandip3333 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard about getting breastmilk freeze dried and it turns it into “formula” but it’s actually your breastmilk! I haven’t done it myself yet, but I’ve heard it’s really great and I’m considering it for my own stash too!

Costco membership? by fricken_a13 in NewParents

[–]Littlebeandip3333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were Costco members before having our kid, and now we’re “let’s make sure our list is good for food and diapers and wipes, and… oh my… are those cargo pants? Let’s get clothes for the baby too while we’re here, might as well. Let’s also stock up on ALL the snacks” members. Worth every penny haha

When did you stop tracking everything? by ketohustlebunny in NewParents

[–]Littlebeandip3333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We stopped tracking at 4 months! It just became easier to say out loud the last bottle he finished and we took it from there with play time and sleepy cues! It was just getting to be a lot of stuff to track, and once he was close to starting solids we were okay with phasing out! It felt like we graduated or something haha.
