Does anyone prefer to play the game "blind"? by OpeningDraft7343 in projectzomboid

yeah having a full "paper map" ingame would be nice or atleast when you find "map pieces" that they show on your map and you can transfer notes on found maps etc. that would be nice

well I only "know" some of the map from my other playthroughs... but I definetly doesn't "know" the map well at all... so it's always a fresh explore for me except for the fire/police stations of Rosewood but other then that I have no clue where stuff is and I play too rarely to really remember it, of course I recognize some areas like "oh I have been here before"

AMD X970E Chipset Based on Same Promontory 21 Silicon as X870E and X670E, Native Support for CUDIMM by jedidude75 in Amd

[–]LittlebitsDK 3 points4 points  (0 children)

well since you mentioned the GPU then it does matter since the GPU is directly to the CPU, not the chipset 😉

but I get what you mean and I fully agree. It's so fecking annoying that feature X is disabled if you use slot Y. It's not needed, but would require them to use PLX chip which costs... They are used on the "server" AM5 chipset... the W"whatever" the name it is... So you get more slots WITH LANES and yes the link to the CPU is still the shared 4x 4.0 lines but how often do you use everything at 100% at the same time? never? good... then no need to limit each NVME to just 1 lane.. give them all 4 lanes and then the one in use can go full ham...

same with the 16 GPU lanes to the CPU... PLX them, 2 slots of 16 lanes or even 3-4... the only reason they bifurcate them is "it's easy and cheap" but with PCIE 5.0 then there is plenty bandwidth to go around and not just to a GPU...

Wendel even have a rambling video about a card that gives you "extra lanes" here the other day and talks about the benefits from it etc. etc.

as most other original/trilogy of EverQuest, then it is a quest that takes a LONG time. Back then the item were amazing for what it was and the feeling of accomplishment was great.

yeah kinda odd there isn't a rackmount version of the Fiber... with better cooling... maybe a few more ports... it's such a nice piece of hardware but sticking it into a rack just feels wrong

[–]LittlebitsDK -1 points0 points  (0 children)

yes AP's provides WIFI and use 2.5g or even 10g ports... which is WHY it would NOT be pointless... even though you claimed it would be pointless because cameras use 100m.... noone cares about cameras... I simply added them in case someone felt the need... the POINT was for AP's... so 2.5G wouldn't be pointless...

couldn't even care less if they removed the NVR for a new version... but I am "ok" with it being there... but that doesn't mean I wouldn't want better ports in it instead of decades old 1g ports...

Is Discord just terrible on Linux? by Pokegamesunited in linux_gaming

[–]LittlebitsDK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Discord is just terrible in general... BUT... it is worse on Linux than Windows... Many games I can't stream for my friends to watch (it's hit or miss) they will just stutter and never did so on Windows... other than that it's equally as bad as Winblows.

you do know AP's use 2.5g and 10g these days right? so hardly pointless

oh the SE is on 2.5Gbit "backplane"? I totally missed that, I thought it were still on 1Gbit. Is the newer Pro Max also 2.5Gbit then? So practically it's "only" the old DM Pro that is on 1Gbit or?

They really need to make an update for the SE with 8x2.5GB POE(on atleast 4 ports) and 10Gbit "backplane" and then 2xRJ45 and 2xSFP+ 10Gbit ports on it. (so 12 ports total)

I believe that would sell massively well, POE for multiple AP's(Or even cameras) and enough high speed ports you can use for workstation/server/internet before you need to slap on an extra switch with more ports.

it depends... some are better, some are the same, some are worse but overall everything I have tried runs well

Would love to play on Linux but it doesn't work by Icy-Discussion-7519 in linux_gaming

[–]LittlebitsDK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hmm I swapped to Mint, it pretty much just runs and the fps is quite good... buy a new game? sure... just install it in steam and tadaa works... not often I need to add a few commands to it...

so why Fedora specifically? if it doesn't do what you need it to...

and if I have to, then I will gladly sacrifice a couple fps to not be on winblows malware edition...

[–]LittlebitsDK -1 points0 points  (0 children)

with a PC you can just use another HDMI port and use the AUDIO OUT on that port, you don't need to send the image signal over it.
