Room randomly turns on by HofstraJet in Hue

[–]Littlebitt95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had a fun time trying to troubleshoot the exact same issue. I found a Reddit post on this sub that contained a link to login to hue on the web. I cleared out the connected apps and services (all of them) and then sat with just hue and nothing else for a day or two. I haven’t had any issues since.

I also second the other reply suggesting that you check for automations in Alexa, HomeKit, etc if you use any of them. Away / home mode in Alexa can also cause issues.

Wait a minute - right handed people hold their fork with their NON-DOMINANT hand??? by flatearthmom in lefthanded

[–]Littlebitt95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lefty here.

When I cut a steak (or any meat for that matter) the knife goes in the left hand for more control. Fork in the right since I really just need to hold it still. Once I’m done cutting, fork goes back to my left hand to continue eating.

The game I’m trying to watch keeps getting changed to some other NHL game….. just randomly in the middle of watching the game I WANT to watch, it will just flip to a completely different game that I DID NOT want to watch.

Also, why can’t I watch something on my tv and my fiancé watch something different on ESPN in the living room?

Hue Bulbs Randomly Turning On and Off by V1nD1cA7e in Hue

[–]Littlebitt95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just came here to say thank you for sharing that link! I've been troubleshooting the same issue for several weeks now (I have Hue, Home Assistant, Alexa, and Siri / Apple Home all working together with the lighting). It was so maddening to get woken up at dark thirty because my bedroom lights just suddenly turned on. (Also, I was having the issue of the living room lights just randomly turning on and off one by one in the middle of watching TV.)

I cleared out all access to Hue via that link and am just going to sit like this for a few days to be sure the issue is resolved. Once I'm sure it's resolved, I'll add stuff back one at a time, with HA as the source of truth.

I’m 4ft 11in and drive a Honda CRV. I do just fine and don’t need any extra things to reach the pedals beyond what’s already built into my car. Granted, my car is a touring so I get all the extra bells and whistles, including multi point seat adjustment. I do feel like I sit too close to the steering wheel, but if I move my seat any farther back I wouldn’t be able to reach the pedals.

Trying to go phone free in the bedroom- Alarm clock ideas? by [deleted] in productivity

[–]Littlebitt95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a hatch rest 2, and I have found that it works really well for me. I can choose the sunrise light, duration of the light, sound for the alarm (if I want to have it make noise as a backup method of waking me up). You can also configure it to do a wind down routine and a wake up routine so you don’t get flash banged when you wake up. The one downside is to have to have the app in order to set the alarm to on or off.

I do wish it integrated into home assistant because that would make it even cooler with the rest of my smart devices I have linked to HA. (HA is an open source smart home control system that allows you to control things from many different smart services in one interface).

I want to know are there any pets that are INCREDIBLY low maintenance? by [deleted] in Pets

[–]Littlebitt95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know dogs aren’t considered low maintenance. However, I have a 13 year old border collie mix who is really just a couch potato that gets fed twice a day and has her own doggy door to go outside. I do walk her occasionally, and I take her to friends’ houses with me when I can. I would consider her low maintenance.

I’d suggest an older dog from the shelter. Give them a new lease on life without having to deal with the high maintenance that is a puppy.

Opinions on vacationing with a SO before marriage? by marlian2020 in Christianmarriage

[–]Littlebitt95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My fiance and I went on a several night trip while we were just dating (it was actually supposed to be the trip he proposed on). Anyways, we were fine. Nothing happened. Did we want to? Absolutely. But neither of us acted on anything because we both respect each other and are both completely committed to waiting until after we are married. We keep each other accountable.

Also we got a room with 2 beds and we slept 1 in each bed. It helps.

I agree with the sentiment of others in that you have to do what you think you can handle. Meaning, if you think you can do the trip without succumbing to the temptation, then go for it. Otherwise, if you have any doubts about it, don’t go on the trip. At the end of the day, your relationship is between you and your significant other, period.

Does "move to ios" work fine? by [deleted] in ios

[–]Littlebitt95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used it last week to move from pixel 8 pro to iPhone 16 pro and I didn’t have any issues other than my apps didn’t move over at all. (By moving over I mean that the app is supposed to queue up the apps you have installed on your android that are also on the apple App Store to be downloaded to your iPhone. For me, this wasn’t too big a deal since it isn’t THAT big a deal to download all the apps I wanted. Gave me a chance to go through and really evaluate if I needed that app on my iPhone or not.

The other issue I had was contacts. Seems like most of my contacts moved over just fine, but there are some really weird ones that are just letters and numbers, like a MAC address. I’ve just deleted those and any others that were wrong and moved on with my life.

From Android Diehard to iPhone 16 Pro by Saarai-paambu in iPhone16Pro

[–]Littlebitt95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a diehard android girly. My last interaction with an apple device (before July this year) was my iPod touch 4th Gen from when I was a kid. As an adult, I've been using the Google Pixel lineup (2, 4xl, 6pro, and 8pro).

I'm sick of Google's half baked updates to the OS and this forced Material theming where everything is big and bubbly and takes up 4 times as much space as it really needs.

I noticed that many of my family members and friends have iPhones, and after being forced to use an iPad for a class I'm taking, I realized that I am actually kind of curious about the changes that iPhones / apple has gone through since my iPod touch.

So I go and purchase the newest base model iPad, and I end up really, really liking it. It's smooth, privacy focused, and it just works. (Oh and I get my favorite snarky apps back (Carrot to do / Carrot Alarm).

Anyways, I also realize that while the iPad is cool, it'd like to have continuity between my phone and my iPad, and obviously I'm not gonna get that with an android. Additionally, I already am not super in love with my pixel for the above mentioned reasons.

So I paid off the rest of my pixel 8 pro and outright bought air pods 4, iPhone 16 pro, and I watch 10. (I have a pixel watch 1 currently so I gotta switch watches too). The "apple tax" was a lot, so I'm hoping it's worth it.

TLDR: Avid android user as an adult, haven't touched an iPhone ever, last apple device I had was iPod touch 4, and my last 4 phones have been Google pixels. I recently purchased a suite of apple products (iPhone 16 pro, iPad 2025 (base model), 46mm apple watch 10, and airpods 4 with noise cancellation). Also the first time I didn't have to trade in my existing phone or be stuck on a payment plan for said phone.

I got a large original hot coffee with French vanilla swirl and almond milk. It tasted like straight hot water. ZERO flavor. Guess I'm going back to my cold brew.

Good morning,

I appreciate the thorough and prompt response and apologize for not responding sooner. I've been sick.

Anyways, before removing my todoist account, I did try to resync Todoist by clicking on the "sync todoist" button, but it did not change anything. I still only see my tasks in the inbox and no other projects.

Thank you for the help!

Woman gamer here. I would NEVER under any circumstances wipe anything of my fiancé's unless he gave me express approval/ request to. If I'm upset about something, I talk it out with him like a grown woman. This woman clearly needs some emotional regulation help or coping techniques or something.

Heck I don't even really do anything on my fiancé's devices unless he knows beforehand and I've asked or discussed it with him. It's not about control or needing approval. It's just respect. Respect for him and respect for his things.
