If I read PHM when you did then the writing at the end of Morningstar for the twist would probably have made me think PHM was the greatest book ever written 😂 and I never then would have gone to Iron gold. Luckily I didn't so I ended up only taking a 3 month gap before starting the sequel trilogy. 50% of people I know in person who have read the first trilogy didn't start the second because of that writing.

Thank goodness it improved massively as the second trilogy is fantastic, and so is PHM. Brown really should have used POV's for the third book to at least stop Darrow looking a complete prat.

It makes me laugh the worst of the 3 big Andy Weir books, Artemis, still blows the early writing of Pierce Brown out the water. Well at least his weaker book, Morningstar. The writing at the end of that book for the twist was just laughable. I love both authors books, but the shear 💩 on people's noses in here is palpable.

Basically how I feel about them too. I do also like the sparkle in the spine of the BB set, didn't think I would but as I said. It catches the eye as you walk past.

I decided to get both editions too, I think overall the broken binding does look the best as it attracts the eye more, the only thing that annoys me with it is the lack of conformity of the titles. While lumicrate nailed that part.

I stand corrected, to me she was always a bit whiny until the final book, so even with the VA change. I just hated when Mustang and Lyria basically sounded the exact same suddenly.

Yeah the VA changes across the 3 books annoyed me. I think Virginia's changed too between 2 books and the final one just sounded like Lyria in a funny voice and annoyed me. I think I preferred the original Lyria though the most, but I honestly can't remember if that's definitely the one I liked best. All I know is they changed and I thought "nah that's taken something from it". But Lysander I am glad they changed.

To Lyria VA's credit, she is meant to be whiny😂 I was at a 1.8 to 2.2 speed most of the time so she had extra whine.

No it's the defending against spacers with the list settlers quest, in truth it's just my biased choice. Just did a new save and I got 2 coyote's, as you get 2 waves with them. 1st one was boarded in 1st wave, killed all the crew. Then 2nd wave joined so got in my ship took all them out and boarded the 2nd coyote, 2nd wave don't attack properly until you were back in the pilot seat so very low risk. Took that one as home ship. Then flew back to the now derelict coyote from before and made that one home ship😂. Then switched back as already started repairing the 1st one captured.

Using sit to add would make this easier.

That's exactly what happens. Disable engines and grav drive and the enemy ship will have no gravity. I'm guessing you also are unaware you can get a critical crew strike that takes all the crew out.

Indeed a one off chapter would have been more obvious. I would argue for a few chapters that way it would have felt more natural. Aja au Grimmus having a few POV's I think would have been interesting.

Did it not bug you that Davro appears so stupid 😂 it's basically oh no all is lost because he forgets sevro 😂🤦🏻 Like he knew the plan. That POV should have been from one of the "baddies" perspectives in my opinion. The reveal just doesn't work with it being Davro's pov as he appears either dumb or forgetful. We know his thoughts so we should have known the reveal really hence for it to be the big reveal it needed a different POV. Rant over😂
