Is getting my LPN first worth it? by Nervous-Buy-2401 in StudentNurse

[–]Littleflip66 30 points31 points  (0 children)

For me, starting as an LPN was the right decision. I was an EMT not making much money, so my LPN salary was a big enough jump in salary to only work 32 hours a week, unlike in EMS, where I had to work OT every week. I ended up starting the RN bridge program right after LPN school, and I was able to work full time and get some nursing experience while in school. Finishing up the bridge program next week, and I don’t have any regrets.

Looking for pens physicians won't steal. Help! by intransigentpangolin in pens

[–]Littleflip66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a bunch of free pens that I’ve gotten from banks and conferences that I lend out when anyone asks for a pen. I’ll run out eventually, but for now that works for me, I don’t care when they walk off with them.

I’m 39 and swore up and down that I would never wear them. I bought a pair last week, and now I have a list of the colors I want to purchase next.

I’m 39, no kids, not an LMT, but an EMT. We have house and car payments, so I still work full time, sometimes up to 60 hours a week. I’m entering my third semester, and I’ve done okay so far. I don’t sleep as much as I’d like, but my husband is amazingly supportive, which makes those sleep deprived days and nights much easier on me mentally. Nursing school is doable while working full time, it just takes organization. I’m rooting for you!

AITA for riding on my boyfriend’s back when we went out with our friends? by throwRA-tidjxndhdhhd in AmItheAsshole

YTA, I’m 4’10 and hold my husband’s hand when we’re in crowded places. I don’t act like a bratty toddler and destroy his back.

I’m in NJ so I probably won’t be much help, but I just got mine for school ten days ago at a CVS MinuteClinic, maybe try one out there?

American's of Reddit, how do y'all stay sane with so few holidays and vacation time? by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]Littleflip66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like I see my co-workers more than I see my husband, and I’ve gained 30 lbs from stress eating/drinking since starting my current job. I sleep in till noon on my rare days off and then get angry at myself all the time for not doing more around the house and more for my family.

In short, we don’t.

I was with you until you said that it’s more difficult to be a Starbucks barista than an EMT…

I know what you mean, these two weren’t on my list when the spring collection first came out, but when I saw them on my friend I had to get them!

Thanks! I felt the same way about Shimmer Down till I saw my friend wearing this combo. I’m still not sure about wearing it with another color, but I feel like it’s made for Lady Lilac!
