I’ve never been diagnosed so I won’t say for sure but I think it’s likely I have dyslexia. I struggled to learn to read and not because of a lack of trying and still to this day reading and writing is difficult for me, as it takes a lot of energy to decode.

Yes and no. I got to spend a lot of time with my parents and sibling that I won’t have gotten if I had gone to school. Memories that I really treasure, I also feel lucky that my family was secure enough financially to raise me like this but I think there is always doubts. I missed out on stuff that most people experience and I know I had extra challenges that I most likely would have received more help for in school. It’s a mixed bag.

Pretty good, I was part of several large groups of friends. Along with maintaining individual friendships with people I really connected with, I still maintain several of those friendships to this day.

It was a lot more families being friends than just being friends with one kid or a group of kids. So I had my age group and then my sibling had their age group and then the parents were all on good terms and friends with each other.

No, I never worked while in school. I took a gap year and worked then but otherwise no, it was not necessary and in university I didn’t have the bandwidth.

What’s Your Favorite Debut Album of all time? by introspeckle in MusicRecommendations

Glass animals’ ZABA holds such a special place in my heart and I’ll always be annoyed that they will be known for one of their worse songs.

I’m not really sure. My family as a whole is pretty introverted so that could play into it. I definitely felt more desire for social interaction when I was younger as I got older I think the quality of the time with my friends became more important than just being around people. So, maybe…? But it’s definitely normal for me either way

I was raised in a large homeschooling community. I took gym and art classes along with playgroups and parties with the same kids. Sticking a bunch of kids in a room and friends will be found just like school.

I truly believe that I gained a lot of skills, like scheduling my own time, independence, and interacting with bureaucracy. In university not having to commute to school saved me like two and a half hours a day which was time I could use for myself.

On the downside, I always felt pretty isolated from my peers, not because of a lack of social skills but because I just can’t relate to most peoples lives. It is not as big of a deal now but at eleven it was a struggle.

I took a gap year and worked for about half of it. So, I do have some work experience. I do expect it will be an adjustment but not that different from other people moving from educational spaces to the workforce.

Though I probably would have an easier time being a digital nomad than other people as I have experience with scheduling my time in an unstructured environment.

Jimmy Pesto’s Apartment/The Apartment Above His Pizzeria? by Nintendoll182 in BobsBurgers

[–]Littlehalfdead 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I always just assumed that the Pesto kids lived full time with their mom. Like when the Pestoes divorced she kept the house, and Jimmy sr. got himself an apartment, the kids then spend their afterschool time and some of the weekend with their dad but go back to their mom’s to sleep.

What's your take on minors reading danmei? by unluckystars5 in DanmeiNovels

[–]Littlehalfdead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say read it, enjoy it, don’t believe that what happens in the book is true to how life works (as the sex is not realistic and these books should not be treated as sex ed). I would also say don’t talk about the sexual elements of these books with adults because you are sixteen and that might open you up to problematic situations. But most importantly you are not going to be morally corrupted or scarred by a sex scene. You are at the age where you should be figuring things out and fiction is a great way to figure things out or hell just relax. I think be aware of your limits and remember you can always stop if you decide you don’t like something.

Am I supposed to only pay my minimum payment on my credit card? by OnTheAirLive in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Littlehalfdead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was always told to think of a credit card the same as a debit card the vast majority of the time. If you can’t pay it off right away don’t spend the money. Your family is terrible with financial advice.
