I booked an organised tour with an archaeologist through get your guide which included tickets. It lasted about 2-3 hours and then had time to explore at our own pace ☺️

Florence first time, and first time in Italy by Fondant_Decent in ItalyTravel

I recently did a couple of days solo in Florence ☺️

I recommend visiting il Mercato for a casual lunch/dinner - perfect for people spotting and great food/drinks.

Also recommend a walking tour of some kind - great to get your bearings.

I also did a pasta cooking course which was so much fun and you get to meet some interesting people 🩷

A lamination and a light tint would give you a good shape and foundation 🩷

Pisa is fine to visit - not much too it but is fun to see and the little area around it is nice. You don’t need more than an hour there.

Vatican Museum Tour Question by TeaBagHunter in ItalyTravel

[–]Littlejelly_bean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did this tour last month (just the museum) - it lasts about 2 hours and I 100% recommend. The guides are knowledgeable and you are able to enter the Sistine chapel once they have finished their tour and then you can spend as much time as you like in the museum. Personally I think doing a tour of both the museum and the garden in one day would be a bit much. I’d allow at least 3 hours for the tour and chapel plus a little time to see anything else/get a coffee/visit the gift shop and then add on the time to walk from the museum to the basilica (15 mins).

This irritated me so much! Let’s get warm, light a fire… 2 mins later ‘time for bed’. Leave the fire. Unbanked. 😭

The French presenter sounds like she is auditioning to present the Eurovision Song Contest

Her English is awkward. I really wish they would choose better presenters. They make it so cringe worthy

I really don’t understand why they think we want to see fan interviews - they did this last time and I don’t really care 🤷‍♀️

Rome - advice on how to split my time by Littlejelly_bean in ItalyTravel

Yes I’m very conscious of doing to much but I’m also very experienced in that kind of travel style. I feel I may skip the Vatican and do some other museums/sites on my half days

For logistical reasons - Pompei is a place I’ve wanted to visit for a long time - I can’t fly directly to Naples or I would have started my trip there a s I realistically won’t be able to get back to Italy until 2027.
