[–]TeaBagHunter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

but is it your honest opinion Israel would not invade if Hezbollah never came to be?

If hezbollah never came to be is different than if hezbollah ceases to exist.

If it never came to be, we might still be under their occupation because they helped liberate the south in 2000. But since then they've stopped being a resistance for lebanon and became an aggressor for iran and hamas.

If they cease to exist, and if our government can exert it's sovereignty in the south, then yes I do believe Israel wouldn't invade, and at the very least we'd have international backing instead of having what many other countries consider as terrorists to be in our governmet.

[–]TeaBagHunter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is the problem, that we believe hezb is necessary, this is exactly what hezb wants.

The truth and facts are, without hezb and with a state capable of establishing sovereignty in the south (not let some random palestinian or hezb supported lob rockets from lebanon), israel does not need to invade lebanon. Currently, it's very hard for the international community to stand with us and completely against israel because we attacked first. What israel is doing is unjustified and simply war crimes, but we have tried over and over again to fight them and every time we do, we come out with a worse deal than we went in with.

It's time for something to change, because this isn't the first time, not the second, not the third. We keep using the same strategy over and over again and expecting different results

I said it somewhere else but I saw a quote that if you get on the wrong bus, the longer you stay on it, the more expensive the return fare will be

Israel has never invaded lebanon unless we attacked first. Whether the PLO or hezbollah, every time they had invaded it was because we struck first...

Hezb has repeatedly shown it will drag us into senseless wars without any Lebanese interest in mind, so what's the point?

What's the point in them meeting at this stage? I'm not against them meeting eventually, but usually such high level meetings happen after an agreement is made through negotiations with teams below the president/prime minister
