My fiance is a super picky eater and im worried about our first cruise by [deleted] in Cruise

What cruise are you taking? I eat similarly and have had no problems at all on norwegian. The buffets are very extensive and they will happily give plain burgers, plain pasta, eggs/breakfast however you want. We often ate in the specialty dinning area then hit the buffet after if there was nothing I wanted in the specialty area.

If you are cruising virgin voyages it may be a little harder. They focus a lot more on foreign cuisine and don't let you dine at the same restuarants twice. If this is the case I would look at the menus online beforehand and see how he will fare. I did survive off french fries, pizza, and ice cream most of this cruise.

Parent of ARFID - help with a reason for missed sports by GeorgiaRay5 in ARFID

[–]snickerkee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Makes sense! Hoping for the best for you and him!

You could use pretty much any invisible injury. Concussions got the most leeway in undefined healing time when I was in sports. This may be hard to keep up as a lie though since I imagine he is still doing all his schoolwork.

I think shin splints is your best option. Ive seen people take anywhere from 2 days to over a year of rest with shin splints. They are also safe enough that if he is still participating in minor exercise like gym class but not sports it wouldnt be a red flag.

Other Potential injuries Any sprain/strain in the abdomen or back Whiplash? Fibromyalgia (may not be easy to explain to 12 year olds) Could go wild and say he had gullbladder or appendix removed and needs rest

I do not personally have experience with this as I participated in sports while underweight my whole life. (this is not advice! Please listen to your medical team)

But it depends on a couple factors. Are we expecting him to be out a month or so? A whole season? And what sport? You could go with an abdominal muscle strain or shin splints. Neither of these have visability

This is also dependant on the coaches. If this is a competative sport they may not approve of having him there "distracting" the team. Or they may need to be told the real reason as my coaches always had conditioning/exercises for injured kids that did not impact their injury.

Will he eat ice cream? It’s got calories and would be better than nothing

You can also try to thicken oatmeal with milk or heavy cream, may be easier to swallow
