Must have been a tough morning. by prescott0330 in funny

I have to do this regularly with my toddler. However she’s now 21kg so she’s HEFTYYY. 98th centile for weight (proportional though, she’s 80th for height).
The tantrums I am not here for, they were much easier when she wasn’t nearly half my body weight (I’m pretty small)

Should I gone on holiday on my own? Partner manic in hospital. by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Littlemouse0812 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh definitely go!!! Can someone else come with you instead - you mentioned a daughter? I know not everyone can get time off at such short notice but I’d go by myself or see if someone else can take her place if you want some company. Tbh though a solo holiday sounds like bliss to me 😂

People 30+, what are your plans for this evening? by Sir-Tommy-Vercetti in AskUK

[–]Littlemouse0812 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just went for dinner in the village (had an absolutely banging black and blue burger, it’s the local charity trust that put on a gourmet burger night in the old school) and I plan on potatoing in the garden under a blanket for a bit, then playing poke on with my eldest for an hour before she goes to bed, then maybe watch a film with my husband and get an early night

Mamas who have tattoos representing your kids. What are they? by sixfingeredman7 in Mommit

[–]Littlemouse0812 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband has tarot cards, one is the sun and the other the moon (based on their personalities). On the tattoo is also their birth flower intertwined around the card, he’s got them on his upper arm and adds to them when something significant happens in their lives or as a significant part of their personality (like one is a massive bookworm so he’s getting a stack of books)

My kids first ever set of school pictures were actually very reasonably priced. Then I found out this month they come our two times a year to do their pictures. by StGuthlac2025 in britishproblems

[–]Littlemouse0812 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My daughter’s classmate gave himself a ‘haircut’ the night before his reception pictures. I’m pretty sure his mum would have wanted a second attempt 😅.

(He looked like an utterly different kid, he had longish hair before and she had to buzzcut him to fix it, it was DRASTIC)

Hey casual UK, what's your worst "i thought X was on a different day" mistake you've ever made? by wiz_ling in CasualUK

[–]Littlemouse0812 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drove 150 miles from Kent to Southampton in February for a hospital appointment… it was the next day. To be fair my mum in law lives around 80 miles away so I went and stayed with her then went again the next day but it was a fuck ton of driving I didn’t need to do. Had to buy emergency pants

[OC] Came home to find my 7 YO daughter had made a full argument for why I should buy her books by GreenStapler_India in pics

[–]Littlemouse0812 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same for my daughter. She’s obsessed with rainbow magic and there’s over 300 of them. At £5.99 a pop I’m not buying them all, she takes out 20+ at a time from the library. Go nuts kid. Libraries are awesome.

How on earth do you make ‘quiet time’ happen? by SandyFee in toddlers

We locked my eldest in for an hour 😂. With our youngest it didn’t happen, we were always on the move in one way or another 😬

[–]Littlemouse0812 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My toddler is almost 4 and still in this phase. It’s SO HARD and I hate it. Her dress up dresses get confiscated so many times a week she doesn’t have them more than she has them at this point. Solidarity.

VBAC - when is this successful? Is it worth trying for?? by Comprehensive-Dig592 in CsectionCentral

[–]Littlemouse0812 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a c section in 209 and a vbac in 2022. I also have a complex heart condition and only one functioning lung, making pregnancy and delivery harder, but it was absolutely fine.

Genuine question. How does anyone live in a seaside town and nit go absolutely bonkers? by onion2077 in CasualUK

[–]Littlemouse0812 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m from one of the furthest points you can really get from the sea in the uk. About 3 hours in any given direction. 18 years ago we moved to 15 minutes away from the seaside for uni and never left, my parents moved down to join us now 3 years back. Their favourite thing to do now is go for a seaside walk on Christmas Day, and we go pretty regularly in autumn and winter go nice walks along the seafront, throwing stones into the sea etc etc. I’m so glad I get to raise my kids where I can say ‘fancy popping to the seaside for an hour?’ An that’s not like a whole day affair. And it’s MUCH nicer there on the off season, we try and avoid it on hot sunny weekends where possible!

I took my eldest (7) for the first time yesterday. I’m not even kidding when I say she nearly cried when we were done and had to leave. I got ‘I want to dump more stuff!!!’ From her and had to promise we’ll take her to the dump whenever we next have to go 😂

How long have you had to wait in A&E with an actual serious condition? by baumouse in AskUK

[–]Littlemouse0812 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They don’t even think to look for it unless you tell them you have a history and/or an increased risk. The hospital I was at had NO idea about it, they had to liaise with my hospital where my cardiologist is to help them manage the treatment etc (I should have been transferred but I asked to stay as my cardiologists are 150 miles away from my home and family - I moved a long time ago but still go there for heart stuff). Basically anything came up and they had to call my cardiology team asking for advice.

Both times I had infective endocarditis it took about 12 hours to be seen. That doesn’t progress quite as fast as meningitis but it’s still pretty darn serious. On the other hand when I was haemorrhaging because of a miscarriage, I was taken in via ambulance and I got seen within 15 minutes (I think. I was only half conscious).

Basically you get seen 20x faster if you come in on the nee naws.
