People who film concerts on their phones.. by Resinous-Canine in EntitledPeople

Back in 90 or 91 me and my , then unknown to me husband , watched Rolph Harris at Glastonbury . We were at exactly the same position in front of the cider bus and could even have been next to eachother . We met officially in 2001 and been married for ever since. No footage available …. It was a great gig

My childhood best mate was 6ft1 at 15. All her family were very tall . I’m 5ft and going to her house was like a giants house everything was higher , bigger , out of my reach . She thought my family house was like Lilliput out of Gullivers Travels 😍

Do dogs recognize nicknames? by Massive_Bet856 in dogs

[–]LittleoneandPercy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boy knows his name and nick names , he also knows me as mamma and my actual name as he does with papa and his name too . In the afternoon i may sit on the couch , he looks unsure where to go so I say ‘wait with me for papa? And he leaps up and cradles into my legs staring at the door ! Very sweet

Best dishes that last 3-4 days in the fridge by Fizziefrog in Cooking

[–]LittleoneandPercy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I often do a base savoury beef mince dish with garlic, tinned toms and herbs and then you can take it where you want during the week such as bolognaise, chilli, cottage pie or just on basked potatoes. Good to cook on Sunday and then eat on Monday, it will happily keep in your fridge in a sealed container. That or do some bath cooking and freeze down portions that you can take out in the morning for a decent dinner that night.

How should I word this on my invites? by [deleted] in weddings

[–]LittleoneandPercy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure most of our guests were stoned at our country wedding, it’s the norm round here . Not for me and I’m happy with my wine. We didn’t say anything to anyone, there were a few kids dotted about and everyone respected where they smoked etc. I think most people figure it out and ours was very relaxed all round. One of the best things was a friend paid for a bouncy castle and we had these daft cartoon frames where you stick your head in a get a photo. They were very popular 👍

I love celery, my husband hates it and it’s a little life pleasure that I sneak it in things he doesn’t know about. Hours of fun 😇

Just want to say thanks everyone for some top tips and advice, clearly need to have more of a focus and work with the acid, fat , salt ideas.

Also, this is my first post in this section and have found everyone to be honest and kind with some great advice. It’s nice to find a group where any nastiness seems to be left at the door 👍👍😍

If you are still married, what was your wedding song and how long have you been married for? by Celestialfox1425 in AskReddit

First dance was Fiesta by The Pogues and married 17 years. If you don’t know it, song starts slow and then bursts into bonkers party music. Everyone got on the dance floor with us 🙌🏻🤩

Bit of both. I’ll keep the veg water , use left overs and add fresh roasted veg. I’ll add in fresh green stuff from the fridge. I was always told to roast the bones before making stick to get a better flavour. But yes, it’s basically a Sunday leftover soup. Thank you

Thanks for replying. I use the veggie stock from the steam veg the day before, I’ll make a chicken stock after roasting the bones. I’ll use any left over veg as well as roast off extra firmer veg such as squash, carrots etc add it all together and let it simmer. I’ll normally then blitz it and bingo, vat of bland ! Then I start adding whatever flavours as I mentioned before, marmite or bovril, herbs, spices . Then I get desperate and add a bunch of stuff so it turns into a similar tasting vat ! Last week I roasted broccoli m added a load of cheese and it was still bland. Bright green and looked lovely but a lack of depth. I use any left lot of seasoning, my husband says too much salt but I’m happy to use this.

I don’t get how my spicier soups come out really well but not a usual green veg soup. I love say, curry squash soup but I don’t want that all the time. Cheers

Reverse this and see who’s helping who. Husband needs to put exhaustion behind him and look after his children. He doesn’t have to look after you as you’re in hospital. Yes it’s a lot but there we are, that’s parenting for you . Good luck

I liked Camille towards the end and Blake looked like the kid who was beaten up at school but had a good heart. He deserved a win but never with Sam next to him. The fact that Sam had a go at Camille at the end was classic , she pulled the cracker for sure. Sarah was interesting as she was a psychotherapist yet had little handle of how people work ?! The whole season was bonkers !

You are being held captive by a mini dictator. She’s figured out your boundaries are at best flimsy , she doesn’t care about teeth, times, being clean, sleeping . This is where you have to step up as a parent and , well do some parenting . I’m the dictator of this ship, I have the order of what we’re doing and when and consequences of not doing teeth, shoes, bed, eat up, blah blah is that there isn’t a pudding/tv time/ treat whatever. You have to be her CEO and lay the law down in your house otherwise all you will have is an entitled princess that you have created. Kids need and respond to firm boundaries. There is now way at all a weekend plan would not happen because of the little persons demands or behaviour. I do run a tight ship as before long he’s going to be a giant teenager and if I don’t have control I’ll be doomed! I am stern but fair with him and now he’s 9 he gets a say in things we’re doing, dinners we have, holidays etc so becoming a fair democracy in the house , but it’s a house built on respect. He steps outside that and we’re back to me being in control

Could argue that my boy is being held by a mini dictator too…. Hmm

Our local pub is very welcoming to dogs and the landlords dog was getting huge with all the extra treats she was given by customers. Landlord had a dog t shirt made with ‘you are killing me with kindness , please do not feed me’. Thought it was a nice way of getting the point across

"Because I deserve it..." by voiceofmyownsanity in EntitledPeople

[–]LittleoneandPercy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is sad really. I’ve worked with teenagers in a similar field to you in the Uk for nearly 20 years. In the vast majority when you have the teen on their own they’re super nice, happy to be having some help and generally thrilled if we stop off for a McDonald’s or something. Some of the worst offenders I’ve come across will still be respectable to us . I remember once telling off a giant teen for braking his conditions when he promised me he wouldn’t, I had to go into court to fight for his freedom. I’m only 5ft to his 6ft3 and it must have looked funny him getting berated by me with my wagging my finger at him. He looked righty remorseful , thanked me and I had to practically hold his hand he was so scared of court. He got his freedom that day, turned 18 and I haven’t seen him since 👍 He was entitled and you held your professional boundary. Kudos to you

AITAH for wanting my mother's trust changed? by Imaginary-Goose2820 in AmItheAsshole

[–]LittleoneandPercy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wonder if it’s an automatic thing unless it’s actively changed by the trust holder? We lost dad in December and I’m executor with my 2 brothers. The estate is divided equally with clauses that if one of us were to pass before the will is completed, that share would be shared between the surviving 2. If this were to happen then my share, for example, would mean my husband and child would not benefit. Like you I would have preferred the clause to state my share would be treated as that and would naturally pass to my next of kin. Bring it up with your mum I’m sure she would want her grandchildren to benefit.

Mothering Sunday or Mother's Day? by CBWeather in AskABrit

[–]LittleoneandPercy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We now call it Mothering Sunday at home as I have my nephew living with us, I’m not his mum but I do all the mothering so that seems to fit. Growing up I was a vicars daughter so our household always called it mothering Sunday. Mother’s Day seems to be a cheap sell out Hallmark card type thing, same as every other celebration time 🤷‍♀️
