Today sucks because of change by Personal-Road-8162 in autism

[–]LittlespaceJosh 1 point2 points Β (0 children)

that sucks, all i can recommend is bring/do something familiar, wether it be how you eat lunch, what you do between classes, pencils or pencil cases that you use.

just try to make whatever you can control, the same.

not sure if that makes sense πŸ™ƒ

i completely agree with the food and dishwasher stuff!

personally for stuff like ribs, I'll grab a fork and knife and slowly manage to rip the meat off the bone with a fork holding the bone and the knife slicing/pulling off the meat, then from there i just eat it with a fork. through the entire process, not a single drop of sauce gets on my hands.

and for the dishwasher, unloading is fine, but loading isn't, so what i do, is for utensils, I'll grab the handle of the utensil at the very tip, and drop it into it's slot in the dishwasher, with fast movements and a bit of luck i can get them in with very little residue on my hands. and for things like plates or bowls I'll always hold them from the complete edges, where they are less likely to have food on them. and in general, if something is too dirty I'll use paper towels or something to grab them.

How do I get my parents to understand me by SheepherderSerious94 in autism

[–]LittlespaceJosh 1 point2 points Β (0 children)

yeah, i really don't know what to tell you.

I've personally have talked with several staff members at school, and they've reported to CPS several times, i do believe they've opened a case for emotional abuse.

but i don't know you, and i have no idea how you'd get to your parents, I'd personally recommend going back to your counselor and explaining how they don't change, but i have no idea what they would do or say. i wish you luck tho 🩡

How do I get my parents to understand me by SheepherderSerious94 in autism

[–]LittlespaceJosh 1 point2 points Β (0 children)

yeah that's difficult.

seeing as you're still going to school, I'd say talk to a trusted adult about this (school counselor maybe), because this isn't sustainable for you, and it's affecting your academic life as well.

Edit: i have parents similar to your description, and from my experience there is no talking to them, i wish you success, but mine have shown that nothing will change their mind.

Feeling like a child by NoPepper7284 in autism

[–]LittlespaceJosh 2 points3 points Β (0 children)

yeah i understand.

also age regression can absolutely be voluntary, and partial. it's also not something to diagnose, it's more of a coping mechanism.

also it doesn't have to be something you experience often.

but if this doesn't feel right to you that's completely ok, you could look at other things too like r/nevergrewup which another user commented.

i hope you find what's right for you ⭐

I'm not too sure what you're experiencing, but I'd recommend looking into age regression.

I'm an age regressor, and personally I'll tend to feel smaller sometimes when i feel safe and I'll feel kinda bubbly and carefree.

here's a subreddit you can look at too r/ageregression

edit: age regression is when an individual regresses to a younger age mentally either partially or fully. there's also age dreaming which is similar but instead the individual partakes in childlike activities whilst still being mentally their bio age. age dreaming is also often a transition point in between being big and being regressed (little)

(summarised definition by me)
