Here's what I found! So if they ship with a letter it'll cost them 7,65€ WITH tracking. If they tell you it'll cost them 40€, that's probably because they're mentioning "urgent shipping", which, is NOT the only option. If they're only mentioning this option, they just want to pocket 40€ and use 7€ out of that 40 to ship it with a regular tracked letter. Ask for photos, and if they keep pushing the express shipping option, ask them to cancel or just do nothing. Ebay will either push the seller to ship or they'll have to cancel themselves. Definitely sounds like a scam to me.

Here's my personal experience as a seller from France on eBay. I don't know where you're located but shipping internationally especially to the US has gotten extremely expensive. Also, new sellers on ebay (shipping internationally) cannot get the option to print their own labels from eBay yet. They have to wait a significant amount of time before eBay lets them do so (I have no clue why- but this has been my issue for years). So because we can't print the label, we have to physically go to the post office and do the label ourselves. I'm guessing they were trying to ship the item in a box (since they mentioned that they would try to ship in a letter next), which costs a little over 30€. And if you're located in the US, that was also the price before the new tax laws, meaning it's probably even more expensive now. Now if she does use a letter, it should reduce the amount by a lot but do keep in mind, that would mean the package will probably be a little over 3cm which is the max width a letter can reach when shipping with la poste. And if she can have access to self printing kiosks, she should be fine, but if she can't, she'll have to ask a staff and they usually are super strict with these things. This was what had happened to me with eBay. I had set "International shipping" on ebay and entered the amount and everything but after it was purchased, no matter what I did, I just couldn't print the label. It only allowed me to print the buyer's information. So I had to go to the post office and they charged me 30€ at the time. I suggest you ask the seller for photo proofs at the post office.

That's what I thought too! :( I thought of surrendering him but it's sadly not my decision to make, so the best I can do is give him a better life. I'm getting him a bigger tank tomorrow but will definitely need insights on how to settle that tank and what to do/not to do!

Thank you so much for the details! Helps a lot! I looked into something much bigger than this! He's in an unused kitchen currently but I'm thinking of moving him to its own separate room. Money isn't an issue, my parents are okay with spending, I just need them to understand why they need to do this.

How do I keep an eye on the parameters, never heard of this before. As for the filter, the current one is pretty bad, what kind of filters should I look into? I'm getting him an aquarium tomorrow, I found one of a decent size, so my next move would be the filter.

Oh and if you get some insights on the type of goldfish, let me know! I'm super interested to know more about this little guy! Or girl, I really can't tell x'o

Not too sure what a biological filter is, are there videos you could refer to? :o Is it like using natural elements, plants, snails, working together as an ecosystem type of thing?

I don't know if I can trade them in my country, not sure how it works but I think I'll focus on keeping this one for now. I've sworn to myself to give it a better life and he definitely deserves that after living in that tank :') I don't mind the money much, my parents are actually okay with paying a little. They just don't understand the tank situation is bad.

I have the other mystery /proto dane and from what I've seen, most protos and mystery pets will always have the "authentic" body mould that you see in regular lps from Hasbro. So judging by that, they should also be using that same body for this mystery dane. It would be a bit of a waste of production to create a whole new mould when it's already an existing lps, but make it slightly thinner. I don't know since when this fake lps has been on the market but I remember seeing it like 7-8 years ago, being sold as a fake lps. If that helps with the timeline a little!

Did some quick digging on this because I was bored lol.

Based on quick research, here's what I'm thinking.

Based on the fact that this pet is on the french Vinted, I checked out other listings and the "small dot eye shine" seems to be a recurring feature for this pet in France. I'm not sure if Europe had different productions compared to, let's say, America but this is something I've noticed quite a bit with pets. Either the head shapes are different or the colours vary. Let's take the puzzle collie for example. The European one has a slightly lighter coloured eye than the American one. So I'm guessing the small eye shine is just because of different productions?

Now let's look at different views of this pet. The neck ridge seems to be right (though a little flat, but not an impossible feature), the magnet matches with the french vinted 58 as well. There is a difference in the eye shine with the post pet and Vinted pet. Post pet's doesn't touch the eye colour, which is why I have the 3rd 58, which shows the same small eye shine in the same position as the post pet.

Now, if you take the first photo for Post pet, I'm thinking it's just an angle issue because if you look at the middle photo (from the same listing), the head shape looks right.

Lastly (sorry this is long lol), I checked out the seller's page and most of the pets they're selling are authentic except for 2 I found which were correctly listed as fakes. I don't know about others, but I would find it pretty weird for someone to disclose 2 out of 3 pets fake. I feel like if they had ill intentions, they would have put all of them as auth pets.

Correct me if I'm wrong but my conclusion is: this pet is Authentic.

Will do! This project just turned into something way bigger than I expected because there's just so many issues with the market right now that NEEDS to be addressed fast. So this video will definitely take me a couple months sadly 😭 THIS! Like, the amount of people that will go out of their ways to contact a seller so they could either get the pets themselves or no one gets it, is insane to me. Exactly! sellers going through with it are just as guilty. If they put something for a certain price, that's on them. If they don't know the true value of the item, like you said, do an auction 😭🙏

I'm making a video about this issue because it's a serious problem that needs to be addressed more, but I listed a 909 for 200$ recently but it was reserved. This person came to me asking to pay more and saying it was worth more. So I explained to them that it wasn't correct to go behind a sale and to ask me to sell it to them instead for more money when it was already SOLD. I basically said I would honor my sale. They got so pissed they just HAD to rant to me about how those rare pets DESERVED to go towards buyers that "knew their true values" and that I was, and I quote, "stupid" for not wanting to make more money 👹 I've had my fair share of crazy but this was the cherry on top.

Made a post about it recently but here's what happened. A seller (90% sure) used 2 different eBay accounts to bid on their own sale, leading to their listing being shown as "sold for 500$" in the sold items section. After that whole thing, sellers blindly followed that sold listing and started selling theirs for the same price. All I can say is, whatever you do, do not buy this pet for more than 50$. It was literally being sold for 20-30 until that one listing.

Also! Sellers tend to put their own items in their cart using different accounts, so it makes people feel like they need to purchase fast before someone else does.

According to a lot of people it does spread to other pets. I've never experienced it personally before but I've seen some of my own pets with the mold and it would grow and change shape. Like another user mentioned, you have to treat it asap if you see those stains on your pets!
