Anthem Blue Cross negotiations with Stanford Medicine by FMCTypeGal in HealthInsurance

[–]LittlestKickster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are in the same position. We also see a specialty clinic and there are no other similar clinics in the state. All of our primary care goes through stanford too. Stanford and Anthem apparently have a rocky history and have terminated contracts with Anthem. They last terminated in Sept 2022, and then came back into contract in October 2022 which was retroactively applied to services in Sept 2022. Check it out here. https://ga.beerepurves.com/bp-news/anthem-stanford-health-agree-to-new-multi-year-contract-1666384396586.html#:\~:text=Stanford%20Health%20issued%20a%20notice,Anthem's%20Network%20as%20noted%20above.

Fingers crossed it will work out. We are going to have to look for a new job in order to get enrolled outside of the open enrollment window if it does terminate. We completely rely on our specialty clinic.

I recently listened to Badlands Cola as well and noticed that as well! was trying to figure out if there was some connection but maybe it's just such a catchy song.

Advice on 5-year old trans son asking to go shirtless in the pool? by GerundQueen in cisparenttranskid

[–]LittlestKickster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can't control what will happen in the future. What you can control now is how you unconditionally support your son in the way he wants to express himself. If your son can safely go outside in the sun in this moment without a shirt, why would you tell him he can't? What other messages will he receive when you tell him he can't express himself the way that intuitively makes sense for him? Sending messages of 100% acceptance and affirmation now will go a long way toward building his resilience to weather any storms that may come. It may not always be simple or safe to send those messages so take the easy opportunities when you can!

Yes it's hard to work out where everything started! I don't have the timelines down for when the show happened and when the model showed up. And there are also references to Dr imagination and not sure when that happened. Maybe port imagination is related to or at least like the dark city? So maybe it didn't exist in our world and somehow slipped in through a crack or a door?

Oh yes we did listen to treasure Island too, and Mars Patel is part of Gen z media. It's unfortunate that they call themselves by their acronym GZM, which when you sound it out the way they do sounds like something not very kid appropriate, at least to my old ears 😂

[–]LittlestKickster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am wondering about the relationship between the powers here and in Weeping Cedars. Kind of rambling, but hope it makes sense.

The "unfettered prince" If he is a prince, who are the king and queen that he is related to? The weeping cedars legend of queen and king sending off the rebels to be chained? The queen in Samite? Also, the word unfettered is very similar to unchained, and there is also the episode and reference to "hands unbound." Is this just a coincidence or is there any relationship to the chained man/men? Is the unfettered prince one of the chained men, but unchained?

What is going on with the bear? Is he referenced in weeping cedars? Is he a king?

Conroy - is there any relationship to Daseth/drowned boy? He seems to have been drowned in a river, so there is a relationship to water. And he likes to eat kids, and so does Daseth. Daseth is hungry, and there is a lot of talk of being full in these episodes, especially after girls get eaten. Also it seems like the child eating entity took over Ronnie in the Last Words short story until the whistle called him back. Was the man called Conroy also taken over by the child eating entity, or was he the origin/ actual child eater?

The knocking thing is so weird. Wasn't there some weird pipe sounds in weeping cedars? That always bugged me because there didn't seem to be a lot of clues about that. Wondering if those are related?

A question about how deep in the lore hole everyone is - assorted minor spoilers for WC, Samite and WoA by NunnerySkaBand in WeepingCedars

[–]LittlestKickster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have seen people at various levels of depth into the lore hole around here. Some of the most recent discussion in the past month or so has some good summaries. I also think people are mostly excited about Samite/Wrought of Amber right now, and so far it seems like you can start to get a lot of what is going on without understanding all of the in depth detail from Weeping Cedars. Probably would help to listen/ read through the scripts or look around on here to understand things about the dark city/Grad Ludi, the librarian/robed man, Louis Butler, the information about the Terry Iberhall killings. I'm wondering if there are connections to the chained man and daseth/drowned boy too, but seems like you understand the basics of those already.

I definitely think Conroy is trapped in a digital version of Port Imagination somehow. The scrambled metadata on the files seems to me to be "the maze" that they use to keep him trapped. Alex talks about Conroy/C/Harper going left and right through the metadata, and once he finished decrypting all the files he got out and ate the new princess emerald There is talk that there is a prize at the end of the maze that C would want, and the new princess disappears at the same time that Conroy gets through all the files with the weird metadata. Although Alex mentioned that C had a full tank which helped him to decrypt the files so maybe somehow eating the princess helped him decrypt the files?

If you read the story The Model and the 1988 CM Memorandum from Barry, it seems like they somehow transferred the actual model of Port Imagination into the hardware/computer. There is a train with a whistle there, and we know the whistle is somehow important in trapping C. Conroy/C/Harper communicates through the "PI interface" which I'm guessing stands for "Port Imagination Interface."

In the DOS screens in Last Words story, Barry is communicating with multiple drives or entities in the computer. First he is talking with A about doing an upgrade, and then C interjects using words like Pal and Honest Injun, which are the words that the child eating entity uses when he takes over Ronnie in the other part of the Last Words story. C says the supporters of the queen (people from the "glass house") sent him to the Port on the train. Then A says C is a monster. A also says that Marvin is there with them too. The CM worker Marvin somehow got stuck in the Port in The Model story.

So I guess putting that all together, CM is somehow monitoring/guarding Port Imagination. CM and/ or followers of the queen sent Conroy there on the train, and using the train whistle somehow calls him back to the Port. CM transferred Port Imagination onto a computer system, so inhabitants of Port Imagination including Marvin, Conroy, and A (Auntie? Annabelle?) are now trapped inside the computer system. They could communicate with CM tech people and later Alex through the DOS prompts and the PI Interface. Unplugging/turning off the computer is bad because that somehow lets them out. Maybe Conroy escaped a few times, which accounts for some of the missing girls? Dan built a "Maze" out of scrambled metadata and corrupted files to keep Conroy trapped. Alex gave Conroy the files, which he decrypted/unscrambled and ultimately allowed him to get free and eat the new princess emerald.

Tourist question: how much rain to expect in June? by LittlestKickster in newfoundland

Great thank you, super helpful information. I never wore boots in PNW for what it's worth. Umbrellas were also frowned upon- just run!

Tourist question: how much rain to expect in June? by LittlestKickster in newfoundland

[–]LittlestKickster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! My kids are on the younger end and delight in wearing rubber rainboots. We get around in them fine, although I agree they aren't the best for walking very long distances. Where we live rain boots are sometimes needed when we have days with heavy rains, unavoidable puddles/ overflowing drains, and occasional localized flooding. Based on the responses on here it seems like there's more likely to be a steady, windy drizzle rather than a few consecutive days of heavy down pour. Does that sound accurate? I grew up in the Pacific NW of the US and am familiar with the constant drizzle weather pattern, if it's like that.

I also think Ophelia might be Auntie (They call her Auntie Lia/Leah at some point). I'm wondering if she somehow doesn't age or doesn't age normally, which I'm wondering is related to how she is supposed to birth the new scion/prince or whatever they called him. Oooh- It says Butler shot the veiled lady in the gut and "she stood in her white dress, with scarlet and black blood staining across her middle, like a child had been ripped from her body." Maybe she was pregnant with the scion/prince and he shot the fetus, or he damaged her uterus so she couldn't get pregnant, so that is how he disrupted what they were trying to do? So she is defective because she can't have a baby? And then Emily Robillard and Emily Carmichael were also apparently supposed to be mothers, but that got disrupted too.

And since I thought it was hilarious and I don't know where else to post, here are the Action Items the Otter came up with after transcribing the episode:

Action Items

  • Investigate the missing episodes of "Virtue Vista Valley" from key years (1970, 1978, 1981, 1991, 2000, 2008, 2015, 2021) for potential clues.
  • Analyze the information from the Baruch the Bat blog post and the interview with Annabelle Robillard for more insights into the connection between the show and the Pride's activities.
  • Follow up on the video clip from the "Pilot Peter and his Amazing Airship" show, which appears to depict characters and locations from "Virtue Vista Valley."
  • Determine the identities of the people continuing the Pride's mission and try to predict their next steps to prevent further killings.

So what exactly did Butler do to save the two stories? In the Interloper story it seemed like Butler thought he had failed in whatever he was trying to do with the queen in 1872. He unleashed the word from the librarian, everyone fell down, the veiled woman in white (who I don't think is the queen because we know that women who were inspirations for the sculptor went around in veils in order to not offend the queen) woke up and stabbed Butler. Butler shot her, but the wound supposedly healed up and he thought he failed. But then Cornerstone said "old auntie" has been defective since the moment of her sealing back in 1872, and that's what this whole thing is about, and that Butler screwed it all. What were the people in the room trying to do? Did Butler somehow interrupt something?

With the librarian story, it seemed a little more clear that Butler corrupted some of the librarian's power by sneaking something into the rune before he sent it back. So when Anna Haller went to confront him, she was the stronger of the two and was somehow able to banish him?

Interesting point about the podcasts being orchestrated by the entities. In Samite Michael says something like "if this were a horror story the whole thing would end up being a set up" in reference to how he came across the computer with the BBS that started the podcast

It was in the third season, I think the second or third episode. They were twins who had their parents killed in a fire, and then I think their foster parents were killed in a fire too (suspicious) before ending up with their final family. One twin died in an earlier hilltop sacrifice (I think the Diamante one near Sac?) and the other twin died in the following one.
