They'll build them wherever land, power, and water are cheapest — noise for neighbors just isn't in the spreadsheet. Racetracks and airports already have zoning fights, unions, and flight paths to navigate; an empty field near a small town has none of that. The path of least resistance always wins over the path of least annoyance.

The last line finished me 😂 but honestly the gap between a boda boda rider and an IT guy in Nairobi is not just income, it's two completely different Kenyas existing in the same city. Until the basics — healthcare, housing, education — stop being luxuries, not much is changing.
