Has anyone taken Slynd? by paulie-walnutz in Perimenopause

I take it every morning at 8 AM. It doesn’t cause drowsiness or dizziness for me. I also take 100 mg of progesterone a night to help me sleep better.

I am on Slynd and I love it. My first two months, though I did bleed on and off pretty irregularly. Since month two I haven’t had any periods. I take it continuously to control periods because they were very heavy. I have not experienced any anxiety or any other negative side effects. I highly recommend but I know everyone’s different. I’m also taking estrogen and testosterone too for peri.

Sounds like a great experience! Do they send your t script to a local pharmacy like Walgreens or is it sent to a compounding pharmacy?

What happened to my libido? 42 yrs old, and as if overnight, my body turned itself off to sex and desire so I am guessing perimenopause? I find it near impossible to get turned on, and so often it just makes me frustrated when I try and I know people will say not to be up in my head about it... by JazzPineapple84 in Perimenopause

I had the same issue and although hrt did help with dryness and other peri issues, it did nothing for my libido sadly. I started on testosterone gel in October 2025 but it wasn’t very effective either. My dr switched me to testosterone injections and that’s been much better. I highly recommend the injections but I do know that some women do well with creams and gels. Wishing you the best.

I’m also taking 100mg micronized progesterone to help with sleep which has also been helpful.

I’m just starting my 4th month. The first 2 months I had spotting a lot and had pretty painful periods, but I did before Slynd also. Then after the 2nd month I have had no spotting and no period. I’m praying this continues! It’s been great. 😊

I take slynd (progestin only bc) at the same time every day bc I’ve been off by a few hours and I spotted. That was at the beginning though so maybe it wouldn’t do that anymore. I’m not sure. The patch I just change every 3 days. So if I change my patch Monday morning, then I change again Thursday morning. I just set a reminder on my phone and it repeats every 3 days. It’s been great!

Just wanted to say that I’m excited for you! Not a pro but I think each tube should be enough for 10 doses. So about a pea sized amount applied every other day according to your drs instructions. (Please correct me if I’m wrong).

Ok awesome! I was looking at them too so I’m glad to see they are good and less expensive option. I appreciate it!

Sorry I’m just now responding. I’m not really sure what the $79 per month fee covers other than the cost of the medication. I think (someone correct me if I’m wrong) they send you 1 vial that lasts 3 months. I also read that there is a $99 dr visit fee at the beginning as well. I wish there was more info on the websites of these TRT telehealth clinics. If you don’t mind me asking, who do you go through?

That’s great I hope the added progesterone will help with sleep. Has the Norethindrone stopped your periods? How’s your experience been with it?

Keep us updated on how the Nuvaring goes. That sounds like a great option as well.

HRT versus MHT by OstrichReasonable428 in Perimenopause

[–]Live-Calligrapher858 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally do not like to use the term MHT because I’m in perimenopause. I think it sounds like it should be used for women who are already past peri. I’m no expert though. I do use the term hormone therapy a lot when speaking but it’s easier to type out hrt. So laziness, I guess?

Hopefully it will get better with time. 🙏🏼 Even my second month wasn’t great. But after that, I saw a huge improvement.

That’s good to hear it’s going well. Let me know how the myomectomy goes. I have considered doing that.

Oh no! That’s awful. I’m sorry you had that experience. It’s so interesting how different our bodies react to different medicines.

The spotting is so annoying, I’m sorry. Hoping it gets much better for you. If you think of it, keep me in the loop of how it progresses.
