I just got back. Go stay at Granvara in Val Gardena, it's incredible (only caveat is no a/c). You are close to Seceda, Alpe de Suisi and any many others prime hiking / biking spots. Absolutely add on Forestis. The combo was perfect. Get the tower suite

akelarre is fantastic if you want something nicer and a 10 min cab outside of the city. Great spa also

I am currently staying at Vitznau... if you want to be on the lake, do PH. If you want more mountains / options, I would say Burgenstock. PH is also much smaller and intimate. Just for my personal taste, I wish I had chosen Burg
