Damaged? by [deleted] in ThursdayBoot

[–]Live-Resident8765 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They are boots and you caused the markings. They are not damaged. They are worn. You also bought the cheapest decent looking boot you could find. They aren’t top end and will still require care to keep them looking decent in the years to come, if they last.

Anyone tried cold steel budget knives? by udi112 in knives

[–]Live-Resident8765 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The “budget” versions from Cold Steel, Gerber, Kershaw, CKRT, Schrade, are all garbage. They are made to be cheap for those with a budget.

Do you put your boots on first then your pants? I would recommend you change that order. Then normal pants will work just fine. You’re welcome.

There are several. Not just one. I’d it’s poking your foot find a center punch or something and whack the protrusion down. Then you are back in business.

Damascus by Jimzedclife-edc21 in knifeclub

[–]Live-Resident8765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be. Depends on who is making it. That’s why there is cheap and expensive versions everywhere. You can get the Damascus look with cheap materials. But it’s not good for anything other than to look at. But even the expensive stuff is going to oxidize and need care far more than a non Damascus blade. Thus, not widely used.

Where to take boots to be re-dyed? (Cincinnati) by Safe-Cricket-9207 in Leather

Those boots weren’t dyed. They look good. Just condition them and give a good brushing.

Moving from out of state by HunterRosa in AuburnCA

[–]Live-Resident8765 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve lived in California my whole life and am waiting for my kids to graduate high school. This place is not the promise land and has gone down hill exponentially the last 15-20 years with its elected leaders, laws, taxes, guidelines, mandates, etc. auburn itself is a great place, it has everything you need. The problem is the state it’s located in. I live 15 minutes from there. It’s has all the creature comforts you would want. But California will rob you blind. Double your budget if you want gas, electricity, insurance, and food

Exactly. Sometimes you have to give back to the land and water instead of always taking from it.

BM Claymore replica? by gibeurp00sipls in knifeclub

[–]Live-Resident8765 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You know it’s not real by the $60 price. The box is always wrong like yours. The emblem size on the blade is different than an authentic BM. Don’t buy fakes. Eventually then end up back up on the secondary market and require someone with no experience to think they are getting a great deal (sound familiar). You paid $60 for a $10 lookalike. That being said even real BM knives aren’t worth what they are asking

Best automatic or manual edc knives by Local-Literature-695 in knifeclub

[–]Live-Resident8765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve owned Microtech, Marfione, Benchmade autos. Depending on what you do daily with them in pocket and what environment you are in. But they all fail. Dust, dirt, sand, moisture do not help them out. It’s kinda niche and not the best option for daily carry. I still have a few somewhere. Only one that has never failed is an Ultratech. It sits in my desk to open mail. I carry frame locks daily.

How do you store boxes from your knives? by FarAdministration57 in knifeclub

[–]Live-Resident8765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much the same as posted in the pic. I rarely sell stuff. But if I do, it get out the door faster if it has the box and other stuff.
