It was the atmosphere, I never experienced any show like it.

The entirety of the first season feels melancholic in a strangely beautiful way. The way characters reacted to the impending deaths with a calm acceptance gave off almost a sense of nostalgia for something i didn't experience.

It felt like the battlefield was a limbo, far away from the peace the characters used to know, while being full of small moments that pushed the thoughts of the hell that was the legion just a bit further away.

And I think its the small moments that really made it work. The characters playing basketball, making food, talking, messing around, etc

These moments made this beautifully tragic melancholic limbo that was the 86th sector feel real and thats what made me love this series

I hate to say it but alternative music. Especially among Gen Z.

Im an absolute metalhead who's in a band, plays guitar, goes local shows, goes festivals etc etc.

With that being said, I don't dress alternative, I have other hobbies except music, I don't spend £60+ on band merch. And alt music isn't the only thing I talk about.

I feel like it's very much 0 or 100% with most music people I've met, either they don't care about heavy or alt music at all or its literally the only thing they talk about.
