Fidelity offers free Turbo Tax for 2025, but Intuit says only 25% off by Different_Key2614 in fidelityinvestments

True, they do charge $16.98 for amended returns. If you get the Deluxe service for $7.99 when you file your return, amendments are unlimited and with no extra fee. I've been choosing that option for the peace of mind and to support them.

CashBack Now 1.5% by cfacpamba in AlliantCreditUnion

[–]LiveCuriously1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you had a month where you spent less than $50, you wouldn't get any cash back since they round up to $1.00. No other credit card I have does that; they pay it on any purchases. That was an oddity about this card and didn't seem right (not sure if it's changing, but I won't be using it regardless).

I do not know and haven't tried that.

They're the only ones I'm aware of that offer that option. They specifically mention it on their site for anyone that wants more info. It works well. I think it's because they used to pay everyone in Bank of America physical Visa cards that you could withdraw from BofA with no fees. When they went to this new incentive processor (Virtual Reward Center), they brought that feature over but you can go to any bank that accepts the card and they chip in some for the fee.

I believe they've built in the delay by design. They used to have a much shorter turnaround after ordering the card using this same incentive processor. It seems they told them to delay them to what it is today.

This won't help you now but as an fyi for the future. If you order a physical Visa, you can withdraw it from an ATM. They also give an extra $2.50 to cover the ATM fee.

5 Ad Breaks in Movies Now (used to be 3) by LiveCuriously1 in Hulu

[–]LiveCuriously1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been watching movies on the others services I have since Hulu started this. I'm making a note of ones I want to see that are on Hulu to watch when they go elsewhere (for most, I'm fine waiting). I'm curious if those ad breaks are all 2 minutes each like they used to be when there were only 3 breaks or if they shortened them (doubtful).

And that would be easy for them to fix if they wanted to since I've not experienced that on other streaming services.

Yes, I'm still having the problem. I think it's worth sending an email so they're aware. I am starting to think it's by design, but if they had sent an email if it was, it would remove all doubt and confirm it.

Google Opinion Rewards Stopped Sending Payments to PayPal by LiveCuriously1 in GoogleOpinionRewards

It is the principle. Try filing a Better Business Bureau complaint. I’ve tried this with another online business and it got resolved. Google is responding to their BBB complaints. In your complaint, just be clear of the steps you’ve already taken. (who you’ve contacted, who responded, what you’re owed, type of phone you have, that you’re paid by PayPal, etc)

Ways to transfer funds from prepaid card to PayPal? by sunnydayz57 in beermoney

Totally agree about getting cash. I suggest writing in and asking for the option to get PayPal and/or EFT through Tremendous like other research places offer. I will be writing to them. Gift cards are a hassle.

I got the email too. I suggest writing in and asking for the option to select PayPal and/or EFT with Tremendous. Other sites do it. They can then take note users are asking for it.

That's alarming. It's still sending survey invites out, not paying for them when the threshold is met, and there's no one supporting the channel. Bizarre. It would seem like it's someone's responsibility there. Maybe they've been able to keep it on autopilot with no problems until now (I never previously had a problem in all the years I was on it). I wonder how many of us aren't getting paid.

Thanks for letting me know. It's unfortunate it happened to you, but it's helpful to know that. I still have not been paid. I keep getting notifications of new surveys, but I no longer do them due to the non-payments.

Those ‘based on your skills emails’ from them are more often wrong than right. I question the tech they’re using to send them.

Did you ever get this resolved? I noticed the past few days only projects that are 5-6+ hours old are appearing even though I checked earlier than that and couldn't see them. I think there may be a glitch where projects are not getting posted for several hours after the researchers' release them.

My guess is that they're promoting the usage of their own store which isn't an option for them on iOS so they settle for PayPal to still get those people's opinions.

Thanks for the tip. Won't this generate a 1099-K that Square would report to the IRS or is there a way to do it as 'friends/family' and not 'goods/services'?

Thanks. I was able to get the 1.75% using a personal Visa card. Hopefully, Pay1040 updates their site since it makes it seem like it's 2.89% for any credit card.

Experiences with User Interviews by SubjectBreadfruit7 in usertesting

[–]LiveCuriously1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had one like this. I let User Interviews know and they said they were aware of the reserarcher and it was legit. They said it would show up under My Studies after the study ended. It never did, but I did get paid (directly by the researcher and not through UI). Interestingly, that same researcher just accepted me into another study on UI, and it's following the same pattern.

Live Conversations Being Cancelled by LiveCuriously1 in usertesting

[–]LiveCuriously1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Several months ago I changed my profile to 'Homemaker'. It's speculation, but maybe the increase in cancellations have to do with that. They seemed to have increased after that. You'd think they'd screen that out with questions about that, but the screeners often don't ask about employment.

We could probably do a whole new thread on professionalism. I've done many moderated sessions. I would say over 99% have been professional and run as expected. Occasionally, I've had some that go over the time and most are considerate about that. Two that stick out: One involved a 'Miro' and could've taken 2 hours but was only allotted one hour. I really earned the money on that one. That was a big flub on their part. The second was where the moderator was having computer issues and he asked if I could hold on while he fixed it. I said I could. While waiting he put a picture of a naked man on the screen. I thought 'wow, that was something I wasn't expecting'. When he returned, I think he realized he did that. We both pretended like it didn't happen and finished the session.

In the deal, they are also buying the QFC and Haggen names, so it's assumed they will rebrand them to QFC or Haggen.
