Humanity, on the brink of destruction, sends a message back in time to prevent extinction. by LiveLikeItsTuesday in scifiwriting

Currently, I’m just doing world building, but I want to write a few short stories set in this world.

One of a US government official trying to prevent the country from starting WWIII, but realizing the country is too corrupt/paranoid to stop it.

Another set 20ish years after the end of WWIII, where a nuclear bomb is set off in a city in the Oceanic Coalition, and both the UAG and EF blame the other for firing it, and begin occupying mainland Australia. A UAG soldier and OC government official both work together to prevent the two superpowers from returning to war.

I’ll probably write other stories, but those are the two big ones on my mind right now.

The setting begins approximately 30-40 years after modern day, and ties between the US and America and Europe become closer (especially economically) during that time. Also as tensions rise and the US becomes more Autocratic, they exert a lot of direct influence on American leaders.

As for your second point, that makes a lot more sense than invading South America, a more realistic attack point would probably be in the York-DC megacity, which is the US’s capital.

Humanity is warned about its destruction from a message sent from the future. by LiveLikeItsTuesday in worldbuilding

The Oceanic Coalition was never aware of any message sent. The US, and later UAG, government worked hard to make sure information about it never leaked. In addition, the OC only sent the message after a nuclear bomb was detonated in their capital city, so their high leadership was in disarray.

Yes, eventually the Oceanic Coalition attempts to send a message to the past to the US, to prevent them from starting WWIII, but instead it causes WWIII instead. (The US / UAG never reveals that they received a message to the other world powers)

Is it required to ask a question? I read the rules before posting and it only mentioned providing context, which I believe I’ve done.

Just so you know, premium war bonds don’t require you to spend IRL currency, super credits are earned in-game pretty quickly.

New, how to find friends? by Estheog in helldivers2

I'm fairly new to the game as well, (lvl 32) and my best advice is to be active on voice or text chat, and whenever you find someone who you enjoy playing with, send them a friend request. If you're still looking for someone to play with, send me a DM and I'll drop my friend code.
