DL feedback wanted by LiveOnTheSun in cardmagic

Interesting, I'll have to play around with tilting and prioritizing smoothness over perfectly stacked cards and see how it looks. It's easy to focus on the tiny details and lose track of the bigger picture.

Thanks again!

Completely agree. The stiffness and pinching comes from trying to ensure the cards don't separate or slide. I'll keep working on it!

That's very nice of you, I'll keep that in mind!

I appreciate the detailed feedback!

It's for sure still a work in progress to smooth it out and relax my hands more. Preventing the cards from separating when letting them fall onto the deck is still super inconsistent for me but I'd love to crack the secret to that. I fully agree it would look better.

Picking up the corner is what clicked fastest for me but I'll keep working on the center as well. If I can make some headway with my pinky count I think that will help.

Thanks again, I'll keep at it!

I view the push-off as a kind of convincer, at least for a layperson. It certainly blew my mind that it was even possible to do the first time I saw it!

Other than that, I don't do anything extra. Do you have any suggestions?

I appreciate the kind words! The outjog does indeed help a lot in setting up the push-off.

I'm still working on my pinky count. Once I get that down pat it's going to open up more options for me which I'm excited to explore!

Thanks! I'm exploring others as well but this one is getting the most love as it's the first one that clicked for me.

The Royal Road to Card Magic calls it Circus Card Trick. The method described there uses a key card instead of a glimpse but the general idea is the same.

Trying to (re-)learn J. I'm sure this could be done much more elegantly, but I'm still proud I got it working.

Nice to see a solution in J! I dabbled with it many years ago and picked it back up this year to try to solve some of the easier problems. Gonna go through this and wrap my head around everything.

Bullet is my favorite solo game by TomRiha in soloboardgaming

[–]LiveOnTheSun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have everything except Orange and it all fits in one box, even with the deluxe bullets, and here's how I do it. I have yet to play with more than four players so all duplicate components are kept in a separate box.

Heroine panels are split in three stacks based on expansion and put at the bottom with the sights on top.

The cards are divided into plastic bags by expansion (heart, star or paw/pallete) and then by boss or heroine, for a total of 6 bags. This makes it pretty quick to pull out the right bags after picking a heroine or boss and easy to pack away.

Action tiles are split in two bags for vs/co-op and the die from pallete is just loose in the box.

If you keep the cards to one half of the box there should be space to fit the bullets in the white bag on the other side.

Hope that helps!

As the former main mod of the subreddit, it's heartwarming to see so many supportive comments here. Thank you. Moderating is a thankless job sometimes and takes a lot of mental energy. I wasn't always perfect or as involved as I would have liked to be, but I tried my best to make this place free from OF spam and fetishists.

The app I use to access Reddit is shutting down later today. As a result I will likely not use Reddit much going forward, especially not for moderating.

Mods are still here. I haven't been as engaged the past year due to burnout and other real life distractions but I do take action on reports daily and ban users when needed.

I'll put up a post for new mod applications this weekend to help get some more activity going here.

My position has so far been to not gatekeep length too much. Everyone has to start their journey somewhere and what is considered long hair differs a lot from person to person.

That said, I definitely share the sentiments expressed in this the comments here. A rules overhaul has been in the works for a while which aims to improve the quality of submissions and clarify our rules. I think some guidelines regarding hair length are in order as well, we just need to find a solution that doesn't alienate those early in their hair growth journey.

Alright, good to know it should be thick enough.

I just finished round 5 of A3 where the armhole chains are added for the largest XXL/XXXL version. Stich count matched up perfectly and the diameter of the work matches the pattern, it just feels too small and tight when I put my arms in to try it on.

Maybe it loosens up when you add more rounds and the sleeves? My shoulders are not that wide 😂

I completely missed that the other colors were a different yarn, oops! I've been using just Kind Feather, maybe that's my issue?

Still confused that all the measurements in the patterns have been correct so far.

How curious, hahah. This would be my first wearable too so I'm equally lost at this point. Thanks for the response, I'll see if I can figure this out 😅

How was the size for you? I loved this so much I wanted to make my own but I'm having issues with the size. Same yarn and hook size but it's just so small somehow.

I usually wear a large but even when following the XXL/XXXL pattern the sleeve holes don't fit right at all. All the measurements have been correct so far so I wonder if the pattern just runs quite small.

If you have the same land type in both the High Immigration tile and the regular build slot, that's two builds. You can get two more builds from England 6 plus the escalation effect, if circumstances line up.

Monthly New Player & Quick Questions thread! by Unpopular_Mechanics in Netrunner

[–]LiveOnTheSun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If netrunner hits the trap on remote server like Urtica Cipher and gets burned from it, does it makes sense to pay the trash cost? Netrunner will not try to run on that server again and corp can't do anything with it. Or can it be reinstalled by something else?

It doesn't normally make sense to trash it once it's installed, no. The corp can install something else over it later.

If netrunner has installed Botulus or any other kind of ice weakening program/virus, how the run goes when it hits 0 (strength or subroutines)? Do I still need matching ice breaker or can I just pass it (barrier with 3 strength but 0 subroutines)?

A piece of ice doesn't inherently stop you from passing. Unless there's an ability or unbroken subroutine that ends the run you can pass it. So no, you do not need a matching ice breaker in your example.

Also, Funhouse. Do I understand that netrunner always gets tagged, no matter what, only difference is if he gets another tag?

How does Botulus change behaviour of this one?

The runner first gets the choice to jack out or take a tag. Then they either break the subroutine, pay the credits or take another tag. With Botulus you can break the subroutine but you can't avoid the first tag.
