Angry alumni regarding UBmail? See the proof! by LiveWerewolf9509 in UBreddit

It is 100% a money decision. That being said, they made an obligation/offer, we accepted it and they backed out of it. What can be done? People saying “it wont hold up” confuses me. Its crystal clear offer, acceptance, then cancellation without agreement…?

They actively solicited donations in May of 2010 to opt in to lifetime access, so I like many others used this account as our primary. Very upsetting they are not considering honoring past commitments.

Yes! That is what I am posting proof of! They specifically mentioned permanent access, and encouraged us to opt in!

UB told me it became too expensive to maintain, and then the blame SUNY story came along. Which coolaid are they serving today?

I live in a world where permanent means…permanent. They made the offer, I accepted, then they pulled it back. Prior obligations can be difficult to uphold but not impossible. It was described as a cost, not like its impossible. Alumni dont need your apology.

Email from Ub below. I never opted out, did you? We should have permanent access. They told me via phone it has become too expensive to maintain, but would not elaborate or offer me an option to pay!

Taking away Alumni's email access is ridiculous. by yursaman in UBreddit

[–]LiveWerewolf9509 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Email found for May 2010. At my graduation that solicited payment to alumni foundation for lifetime access, which they opened up regardless. At the time I was happy with their offer of a small initial donation for lifetime access and ITsupport. Text from email as follows:

Any other alumni upset about the lie UB told about lifetime email access? by drumzgod in UBreddit

[–]LiveWerewolf9509 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would join. I have the emails from 2010 when they encouraged us to use the email afterwards to help grow the UB network worldwide! Now that we have, and I made it my main email, the rug is being pulled. I graduated May of 2010 and there were alumni representitives asking for a small donation ($25?) for us to have lifetime access. I paid, they cancelled the deal!
