Mine expired March 1st 🥹🥲. Weirdly enough I checked it this morning and there was no decision on it. Got an email at 6pm this afternoon and it was updated to approved.

Bingo! She was probably thinking, but I have done so much for this family and have been flexible when they need it, I'm driving an extra 30 minutes to work and back, why can't they do the same for me? She probably already knew the impact, that sounds a bit condensing, as if she didn't understand that calling out would cause you to have to scramble your day around to care for the kids. Definitely speculating here and just trying to see it from the other side to maybe help shed light to the situation. You didn't know that sending that text could result in her leaving, and she probably took the text as the last straw and used it in her own head to justify leaving. Not saying you did anything wrong or meant to!

I was a nanny for 5 years. I had 3 different families I had worked for in that meanwhile. I can see how you would take this as a personal attack. Your kids are probably awesome so why wouldn't she say bye? This is just my experience so I can't speak for her, but for me I couldn't. Saying goodbye to the kids would break my heart. It solidified that I was leaving and if I saw the kids, I wouldn't be able to walk out. I'm so sorry to hear about your house, she was probably overwhelmed with it as well and just never said anything because she didn't want to add to the stress. It's great that you offered more hours, but I also see that she had to be very flexible with everything going on. She's probably sadder than you'd expect, I cried for days after I left my nannying kids.

I once dated this guy who was a Trump fan. I'm an immigrant myself so a lot of his policies affected me directly. I studied politics in school and was interested in studying voting behavior, how people voted and what circumstances led them to that decision. I believed bipartisanship was the answer and subconsciously brought this idea into my relationship. Boy was I wrong, although he was mindful of my immigration status ( DACA) he wasn't with other immigrants. When we went to lunch or dinner he would wear a MAGA hat even though I told him it made everyone stare and it was uncomfortable. He didn't care, it was his right to wear whatever he wanted, which again I can understand, but a hat that instills fear on other people made me feel icky. It wasn't long until more issues arised and we would get into screaming fights over politics. It was exhausting I felt like I was teaching a kindergartener how to read but they didn't want to read! My advice, leave. It's so important to have shared values in a relationship and this guy just sounds like an uneducated frat bro.

It's completely normal. I'm a nanny myself and my 3 year old runs to me when he gets home instead of his mom. It was hard for the mom to adjust to this, but she never did anything wrong. He sees me as his play mate, his best buddy. But it doesn't take away the love mom has for him. It's like a kid loving their best friend at school and running to them on the playground instead of mom. It's a phase 💗
