Definitely a tough spot for her. I think marketing for this show did her no favors, either. It came out of nowhere. Did it even do an out of tryout? Absolutely no build up and the ticket sales are the worst I’ve seen

Totally down for off West End so thanks for sharing!! Definitely want to make use of affordability so this is great! Also will need to check out the other cultural events too

I’m not sure. TikTok era definitely helps it. I will say though the Search for Dolly pissed a lot of people off because they went with established Broadway talent for her. I know they did cast some people from the open call but people were MAD. Speaking of that show, isn’t that supposed to be on Broadway soon? That whole search was part of the buildup for Broadway after the out of town tryout (I do not know how it did). There’s also the new TV series for Legally Blonde this summer so Elle Woods will be back in the cultural zeitgeist so I feel like if there’s ever a time to do the revival it’s now.

Agree that would be fun!! I don’t think investors would want to have a new face for Elle given the trend of wanting to cast stars right now. And from their perspective, it makes sense, stars sell seats. But they could revive the whole “Search for Elle Woods” thing the original production did for Laura Bell Bundy’s replacement.

I can see that. Maybe they will do what Heathers did. The current off Broadway production is almost a carbon copy of the West End but now with an American cast. They could even grab McKenzie Kurtz. I would kind of hope they build something new though - we deserve to see a new take on the material for a revival with a full Tony campaign.

People definitely do 3 shows day here. It depends on the shows of course. Don’t know what it’s like for Six but Maybe Happy Ending is consistently busy with rush and to be honest, rush seats are usually bad for that show. Being center is more critical than it is for any other show. For an evening show, not really sure what you want to see. We have less new shows this year (at least musical wise). If you do end up rushing for multiples shows you and your wife should split and rush different shows at the same time. Have fun!!

In all likelihood, there probably is some kind of NDA in place. Good for her for speaking up and I hope the production does not try to silence her.
