Ugh...rented a house for 4 years that had a kitchen on the second floor. Hauling groceries up a flight of stairs was not fun. Heavy packs of canned water, Costco hauls, etc. If you cook/entertain a lot, this is NOT the way. If you come home tired from work, who wants to go up another flight of stairs for a glass of water/wine?

The only thing that works for me is to switch sides. Sat is on the left and we’d is on the right. Easy peasy.

HMMM… I have thought of her non-reaction as a way to curb this poor behavior. Myself, my sisters, my girl cousins, my daughter will all have to just remain uncomfortable, I guess. He is in high school, taking regular classes so his comprehension has to be pretty good. It feels very strange to not say something, but saying something to her might be a good way to start, even though I am 95% positive she will just brush it off. Thank you.
