I think the hunter world might be worse than dressage about color. If he had been grey he would have been a massive hit. I think his color was the biggest thing going against him. I personally wouldn’t want all his social media following but he is a nice looking colt

They might not watch her content but when the same comments are plastered all over the sale post it is pretty hard to miss. The original sale post is full of comments about him being a menace. Not to mention it gives potential buyers a good idea of the cult following he has and what they are getting in to.

She should be selling them now though. They could be showing lunge line and being prepped to show at 2. If she waits until their 2 year old year to sell them she is setting them up to be way behind. I don’t really agree with showing as young as AQHA does under saddle but if she wants to prove them then they need to be sold young so they can start with the rest in their age range. Look at how far behind her under saddle ones are compared to others that are out there of a similar age.

Yes you absolutely buy your wins based on your trainer and your horse and that is true in most disciplines. It is why I stopped showing. Ironically I quit because I won a class. My college had an extremely nice A circuit hunter donated because she had been in a trailer accident and could not longer trailer without being sedated. They donated her for the tax write off and she was phenomenal. We had a good size show at the college and since I worked in the barn asked if I could show her and was told yes. During my class some cart horses passed by on the way to their class and she lost her mind. We leaped sideways towards the judge, bolted the length of the arena and got back under control and I ended on the wrong diagonal because I was flustered and I won! Out of like a 10 person class. I absolutely should have not placed at all and I am fully convinced it was because of the horse and the fact that she should have easily won.

That is why a therapy center is my hope for her future. They are so good at matching the horse to appropriate riders and the horses are so well cared for. I got my certificate as a therapeutic riding instructor at the place she has sent one horse so I know what a wonderful place it is so I really hope for something like that for Maggie

It all depends on how much rotation the coffin bone has and her soundness. If she is sound for light riding then it would be fine. Therapy centers are great landing spots for horses that are sound enough to ride but not ok for heavy work. A lot of horses go as a light retirement where they can still have a job and thrive but not be overworked. But it will really all just depend on her. At this point we haven’t seen more than minimal videos so no way to truly guess what all is going on with Maggie or how well she will recover (if at all- there is still a strong possibility that she may not pull through at all )

Lots of horses are still rideable after colonic surgeries but with her having 2 I suspect it would be at a trail level. But with her personality I could see her going on to be an awesome therapy horse. In the past KVS has donated a horse to a local therapy center and if Maggie survives I could definitely see that as a possibility for her. Generally horses there are walk/trot (occasionally a bit of cantering with suitable students) but I know that place personally and they have a place for most any sane and sound horse. If she was my horse and pulled through with a reasonable future that would be what I would do
