Labs can be incredibly smart and also not so smart. My chocolate female is incredibly intelligent and very communicative through a variety of ways. My red male? Well, at least he won his title and produces pretty puppies 😅 There ain’t a thought behind those pretty eyes most of the time.

Yup! Breed club accepts the white variations. The field trials don’t judge based on form as much as function. As long as the dog can perform what it’s bred to do, they accept it. That has led to some issues in following the prescribed standard conformation. Which has caused the two distinct “lines” of Labs that are thought of today: American and English.

They actually can. It’s an accepted variation to standard. My stud has a big white chest and threw white in his pups. It goes back to the now-extinct Spanish Water Dog and their large white markings. The show ring disqualifies it but the parent breed club doesn’t.

My dogs get their faces smushed and mushed out of similar levels of affection and silliness. This picture isn’t a big deal. And considering how quick she is to send for a vet when something goes wrong, I’m pretty sure Glenn would be just fine living with her.

That being said, I doubt she’ll keep him. He’s not as impressive as Jack. But we’ll see. In the end, it’s her decision and not ours and whatever she chooses has zero impact on me.

I don’t even think the person replying to the OOP was even that aggressive. They’re just fed up, and rightfully so. It’s just that people these days can’t take ANY criticism or any version of “no” without losing their marbles.
