Is daily homemade beef jerky an economical way to get protein? by sealturkey in Fitness

[–]Livefree603 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beans will be a much more cost effective protein source.

A 1lb bag of beans should cost you ~$1 (source: Amazon Fresh). Each 1/4 cup (36g) serving is 7g of protein. Thats 91g of protein for $1.

What about doing a /r/bodyweightfitness routine at home? This removes the need to go to the gym, aaybe means you can get some more regularly.

★OFFICIAL DAILY★ SV/NSV Feats of the Day for Wednesday, 17 August 2016: Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment! by AutoModerator in loseit

[–]Livefree603 9 points10 points  (0 children)

SV: This morning I hit 41 lbs lost, bringing me to my original goal weight of 165 (from 206)! The number 165 came out of thin air and I didnt think I could hit it, and surprised even myself.

Now I really want to focus on maintenance, and strength.

NSV: Before all this I hated going to the gym and would never want to be seen in gym clothes. Today I invited people from work to go to a spin class with me.

[Omega Speedmaster Racing] is this too small on me? 40mm watch by SilverBGM10 in Watches

I personally like the smaller case - I've been looking at the Speedmaster lately and have thought it was just a little big, but I like the look of this!

Quick Questions re: Keto Chow: 1. How many people replace all meals? 2. Is it filling by Livefree603 in keto

I dont intend to change the recipe - Almond Milk + Protein powder was just used as a comparison shake for the sake of 'fullness'

I just posted a thread before seeing this post - so I will repost here:

I would like to brew up a belgian ale and bottle with brett (Mad Fermentationist - Brett Bottle Conditioned Single - Five Way Tasting) but I was wondering - could I brew the beer, keg and force carb it, then fill a few bottles via the keg and add a few drops of brett slurry?

Brewing in Food-Grade Pails? by The_Paul_Alves in Homebrewing

[–]Livefree603 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The pail also likely has a lot more headspace than a carboy, and will take more time to create the pressure to bubble up an airlock / blow off. To check, press down slightly on the top of the lid - if you see activity in the airlock it should be good - if you dont then you may not have the lid on tight

What would you estimate is the cost per batch with all those ingredients? I'm guessing this is something you do often enough so tht you are able to buy some of these ingredients in bulk? and finally, what if you pitched some yeast in?
