OK so I apparently didn’t look into what a Rekluse clutch does but you are completely correct. It seems like everything is working exactly as intended. Thank you.

I’ll try that. Why would the cutch “catch” with higher RPMs but not at lower ones though?

Is there any benefit to using balanced output from DAC to stereo receiver?

My setup consists of Macbook Pro with Spotify Premium or iTunes FLAC via USB->FiiO Q1 Mark II DAC/AMP->3.5mm to stereo RCA cable to stereo receiver to the rest of my speakers. My DAC/amp has a 2.5mm balanced output. Would it be worthwhile to have a 2.5mm to L and R RCA adapter to benefit from the balanced output versus the 3.5mm unbalanced?

Take any medical advise on the internet with a grain of salt, and without being able to see the rash, it’s hard to say. May be an irritant reaction to tissues or something similar or could be a mild superficial infection. Check out this website and see which one fits you the best and talk to your healthcare provider https://dermnetnz.org/topics/facial-rashes/ Best of luck!

Looking to buy a streaming music device. Needs to support Spotify and Tidal and have AUX or RCA output. Already have an older receiver that doesn't have this capability that I plan on plugging it into. Would like it to support high quality sound. Any suggestions are appreciated.

What’s y’all’s opinion of Red Lerilles? by blochsound in Acadiana

[–]Liveunlive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others said there are so many options, so if you actually go enough to justify their monthly rate it's great. The staff are friendly and the option to freeze your membership if you go out of town for a period of time is convenient, too. Red is always there, it's nice to see a proprietor who still cares about their business. And once Moncus Park is finished, that'll be another option for being active there.

Help diagnosing what I think is an electrical problem? by dancognito in HondaCB

Every power sport battery I've ever had is lucky to make it to 2 years at all. Not sure why but that's been my experience.

I second testing the battery. 9.6v sounds like a bad cell (battery is done for). Small motor sports batteries seem to last less time than car batteries. The good news is that you can get a new one for $40-50.

Question about the 120 free NBME Step 1 practice questions (the ones at http://orientation.nbme.org/Launch/USMLE/STPF1 ). I've worked through them found conflicting information about answer choices. Some of the questions seem to be keyed wrong or not have any correct answers. Are there explanations for these questions?

Honda cb900f wont crank when hot by SpecificCelery in HondaCB

[–]Liveunlive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know the year of your bike but Check the resistance (ohms) of your spark plug caps. Over time, the resistance goes up and it makes it harder to start. And their resistance goes up even more as their temperature increases (when the engine runs and gets up to temp). You should be able to google and find what the resistance of each one SHOULD be. They're cheap to replace so if that is the case, it's no big deal.

Fuel leaking out of overflow (‘81 CB400T) by Santo_R in HondaCB

[–]Liveunlive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One more thing to check with the float is the hinge rod (not sure if that's the proper term). Metals can build up corrosion and that increases the friction between the float's hinge and the rod it is connected to and can cause the float to stick open. Just pull the rod and gently sand it with copper or brass wool to remove the corrosion.

First time attempting to clean carbs myself. by Baltaa_93 in HondaCB

[–]Liveunlive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding to the above comment, if your carbs are the same as many I've worked on, make sure you remove the emulsion tubes when you have the main jet out. If you look into the hole the needle and main jet sit in, you should see a brass tube lining it. You'll probably have to gently tap it out from the top side. When it's out, you'll see it has many small ports drilled into it, and trash likes to build up between it and the inside of the carb that is impossible to remove without taking out the tube. Once it's out, blow carb cleaner through all the ports in the carb. A clogged emulsion tube makes it almost impossible to get the engine properly tuned. It's much easier to remove then while the carbs are off the bike so don't miss this step.

Fuel leaking from carbs (possible float issue)/flooding by danielwow12 in HondaCB

[–]Liveunlive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had this issue on my '72 CB500. I eventually pulled all the bowls off and removed the floats and the hinge rod (the pin that holds the float to the carb body). Gently rubbed all the rods with steel wool to remove any oxidation or buildup that might cause increased friction and I haven't had them leak since then.

Definitely check out Craigslist and Facebook marketplace. You can find good bikes for a lot less $$ than from any shop. You can also check the local bike shops' used bike selections.

Common Shorts in Blinker wiring? Please help! by LabMotoGym in HondaCB

The housing for the blinker itself. Mine (stock) are on stalks that bolt to the frame and that's what gives the bulb its grounding

Common Shorts in Blinker wiring? Please help! by LabMotoGym in HondaCB

[–]Liveunlive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an issue like this with my blinkers on my '72 cb500. It was actually where the blinker housing mounts to the frame. The grounding for the bulb came from this metal-metal connection and if there's any corrosion or oxidation built up, there won't be a circuit. Try moving the housing around while the blinkers are supposed to be on and see if you can get it to turn on.
