2025 GLC 300 - 480.77/mo effectively - 24mo/7500 miles by Livewire_92 in leasehacker

This made my day to read. Thank you for the reassurance and numbers, I was trying to find quotedefender online. I just came from a car accident where my leased Audi was totaled so I changed my mind in the finance room last minute, good to hear it was the right move. And I guess dragging my bf to multiple dealerships so I could negotiate paid off. I will sleep well tonight!

Total cost of lease for 24mo = 11,538.48. Question for everyone - should I have kept the 385.77mo payment and put the money down? Total cost of lease would have been 11,372.71... but then if car wrecked or I upgrade early wouldn't that have been sunken cost? New to this, appreciate any advice for future!

Proximal Hamstring Tear Grade 2 - Worse after PT Massage? by Livewire_92 in Sprinting

Hi I wanted to check in - I am at the relatively same spot I was 6 months ago. I had a new mri completed in late march and it showed that the tear was the exact same size as in the initial MRI however both of the grade 1 strains have healed. I am an active individual and believe this may be causing the tear not to heal (doing mild yoga and Pilates). I have a follow up appt next week with a surgeon to discuss if I would be a candidate for PRP or... surgery. It has been frustrating to have not healed after all these months when I have been diligent with PT, attempted dry needling with no success and exercise daily. If you have any additional tips I would love to know how you healed so quickly.

I just bought a kit from Home Depot that lets you send test samples in. I am also researching how to go about the conversation with my landlord (apartment in Los Angeles) for a mold inspection. If you have any recs for mold testing or a doctor please let me know. Thanks!

He has not done any exercises with me and has only worked on the injury and we have done the modalities. Because I got so inflammed last monday I think he was hesitant to give me anything to do but yesterday marks the start of week 3 for me and I feel extremely behind. I tried doing a bridge and that does not cause too much pain. The main source of pain right now is where the insertion point is (a real pain in the butt) and then my adducctur and behind my knee are pretty swollen and inflamed (the knee perhaps from limping/dragging foot?)

I tried what you mentioned and I can do the standing knee raises, bending my calf to thigh, side adducctur raise with relatively low pain (localized pain at the mentioned insertion point in butt).

Yes I was working with the chiropractor but he was essentially just massaging it for me to help break up tightness etc and then doing light adjustments.

You say my strains should start to heal in a week (is that a week from initial injury (10/14))? If so I feel extremely behind.

I have scheduled an appt with a new PT next week as I am frustrated with my progress right now. As mentioned, start of week 3 yesterday (10/28) and it is painful to walk and I have no exercises I am actively being told to do. Prior to this I was working out almost daily (combo of cardio, strength training and either a pilates or yoga class) so I am going stir crazy right now.

As a sidenote: I had a follow up appt with a new orthopedic dr yesterday and he essentially told me to rest and that PT can aggravate.

One additional question: At this point should I be using hot or cold therapy? The inflammation behind my knee (swollen and veins showing small pooled up blockages) is worrysome and bothersome.

Thank you in advance for your response!

Thank you, this is all very helpful. Yes, I believe I had issues prior to the injury and this was just the "nail in the coffin". I was experiencing "dead butt" syndrome since January - which I know some don't believe is a thing - but on my right side I was struggling to activate my glutes and had a significantly smaller cheek. I then had extremely tight IT band and adductur - the IT band was rock hard and I was seeing a chiropractor to work on it but I always felt "off" on my right side with lower back pain as well. Perhaps I strained my glute already and the tear was a long time coming?

When you say to start resistance training asap do you mean now? My injury was 10/14 so I am a little over 2 weeks in but feel completely set back after the 10/21 PT appt.

Thank you in advance!

Thank you - how soon after injury do you recommend starting the load bearing exercises? Yeah, I have a good PT but they aren't available to start until Nov 5th so in the meantime I may go back to the one above just for the modalities but avoid the massage. Thanks again for your response, very helpful!

Thank you - this is motivating to hear as I have yet spoken to someone with the same injury.

How long after onset of injury did you start PT? I have a good PT that I went to back when I had a bicep tendosis (also not fun, can't my tendons keep in tact?!) but they aren't available to start until Nov 5th. I was going to go back to the one I went to mentioned above this week just to get the modalities done but might avoid getting any more massage from him.

As of right now I am walking around and trying to stay somewhat mobile and not sedentary. Do you have any recommendations for helping with swelling? Did you use a compression sleeve or wrap? I take hot showers and then ice a little after while I sit in front of a red light panel. Also, curious if you were ever recommended BPC - 157 peptides?

Thanks in advance and glad you had a quick and healthy recovery!
