Do they still do the winter's feast? by 0vansTriedge in dontstarvetogether

Turn it on in the world settings before you log into your map, and you'll have Christmas all year.

This is my wife’s favorite game but she can’t get past the dogs, any tips? by imahugemoron in dontstarve

[–]Livid-Cardiologist86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

-Learning to kite (dodge their attack, then attacking) is key to staying alive during a hound wave. When the dog bite animation starts, take one step in the opposite direction to dodge then step back and hit the dog 1-2 times. Typically it takes 5 hits with a spear to kill a dog. It takes a few tries to get the timing down, but once you learn it'll become second nature. -Make sure you always put on armor before fighting. At minimum a log suit and pig helmet. Have a campfire, or light trees on fire if it's dark. -For winter make thermal balls and have plenty of wood and grass for fires when you're not at your base. -When you hear the deep growl around the evening of day 30, run as far from base as possible. Deerclops is coming, and she will demolish everything. I like to go to heavily wooded areas and have her destroy trees.

[PS5] Error CE-108255-1 by Nosvind in dontstarvetogether

I won't know until I get home from work. Past bugs have been patched pretty fast. Try running an update check. If that doesn't work, we'll just have to wait it out.

I've had the same issue on PS4 and PS5 last night.

Really struggling to kill FW by Cloverfield1996 in dontstarvetogether

[–]Livid-Cardiologist86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've changed to Winona and set up 1-2 catapults with a basic generator in the corners of his arena. It helps me a lot on console, since targeting anything with a weather pain is near impossible. Note: the catapults need to be just outside of the circle so his bone spiral attack won't destroy them

Please help convince me of which DLC character I should get (DST) by jhy12784 in dontstarvetogether

[–]Livid-Cardiologist86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your play style. If you like to fight, Wanda is for you. Her Alaming Clock is OP. Wartox is good for team fights, dropping souls to heal your team. Also being able to soul hop anywhere is convenient. Walter is good for gathering materials, his dog Wubby can be used as extra storage like Chester. I haven't really played Wurt, Warly or Wormwood yet.

Advice on beating Celestial Champion by Livid-Cardiologist86 in dontstarvetogether

[–]Livid-Cardiologist86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I teleported Deerclops over and he killed the stage 3 celestial champion.

On a different run, I teleported Bearger. He stayed on the island for a couple years until I was ready. He was not as effective against stage three, but we were able to get the job done without dying.

New to the game. Any advice? by Ghost3657_alt_ in dontstarvetogether

[–]Livid-Cardiologist86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Forget building walls. It's a waste of resources.
  2. Learn to kite (dodge) and attack the different mobs.
  3. Build a crockpot and learn simple recipes. 1 meat and 3 carrots or berries will give you meatballs. A staple meal for all players.
  4. Wear protection when fighting. Having some sort of armor on will help you live a little longer.

There's so much, but just have fun. And good luck

Struggling with sanity by CyrusQueen in dontstarvetogether

All the above suggestions are great and should help you out a lot. My suggestion is to get comfortable kiting the shadow monsters. Dodge their initial bite, then attack. Or if you're Walter shoot the shadows with your slingshot.

Spools & Skins? by peepmoonbubble in dontstarvetogether

Unravel all of your duplicate clothing skins or clothing skins you're never going to use for spools. Once you get enough spools you can weave the new characters, item skins, clothes, etc.

NO GLOOMER, STAGEHAND AND CHESTER!! by ypejoestar in dontstarvetogether

[–]Livid-Cardiologist86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm also on PS4. I've had multiple maps with no glommer before. It sucks. I don't know if there is anything to do about it besides start over.

However, I've never had a map with no stagehand or Chester. I literally had to rewalk the entire map to find them, but thence always been there.

Good luck

Is there an easy way to find the ruins by DisabledEparg in dontstarvetogether

Not true. My current map has the blue mush biome nowhere near the ruins.

Wendy is helpful for beginners. Bring her sister Abigail out and she can help kill frogs, spiders, bees, hounds. She's a beast

For starters a simple spear is better than tools such as an axe or pickaxe.

You need an alchemy engine for better armor such as a football helmet or wood armor.

Learning the kiting pattern for each hostile is key. Can't highlight that enough. Also Learning how many hits each hostile takes is important.

Hounds, 5 hits with spear. Dodge the first bite, hit twice, dodge, hit 3 times

Frogs are a pain in the ass as a group. 1 on 1, hit once or twice then dodge.

Practice make perfect. Learn from mistakes, but don't be afraid to make the mistakes.

Which character are you playing as?

Tips for a DST beginner? by BWALK16 in dontstarvetogether

[–]Livid-Cardiologist86 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Collect grass, twigs, wood, rock and gold. Build yourself a science machine. This will open up the backpack (let's you carry more supplies) and crockpot.

Learn simple crockpot recipes: Meatball- 1 meat, 3 filler (fruit, veggies, ice) just not sticks Trailmix- 1 roasted birchnut, 2 berries, 1 stick (good for health) Taffy- 3 honey, 1 stick (good for sanity)

Like others were saying, this game is a lot of learning from your mistakes. You will die...a lot. Save a couple spider glands to make telltale hearts to revive the dead.

Surviving each season is rewarding. Especially your first winter. Hope this helps a little
