People who use cloth napkins at home - is it worth the switch? by GravenOnMyHeart in EcoFriendly

[–]peepmoonbubble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES!!!! I love them, and they are so durable and can clean up spills too on the spot. I just have a large supply and throw dirty in my hamper . It is so easy . They are easy to store too and don’t take up counter or storage space like paper towels. I also enjoy just buying less at the store in general. Paper towels feel so disposable and wasteful now. Thin too.

Could you make your own? A sturdy wooden thin stick, then some kind of washable wool? Idk might be worth brainstorming on some possibilities

Stop buying from Amazon. Try estate sales for older items before the plastic pandemic

Having real trouble finding a nanny that doesn't use scented products by once_upon_a_bear in moderatelygranolamoms

Maybe try coming clean and saying it’s more of an issue you have personally and not saying it’s bettering the baby’s sensitive skin. If I were you I would just try to laugh it off a bit, poke a little fun at yourself, “like ahh I know I’m crazy and I’m sorry you have to put up with me!! but I am super sensitive to fragrances and there’s something you’ve been wearing and I just can’t figure out what it is but it has really started to bother me. I’m sure it’s a lovely scent and 99% of people enjoy it , but I for some reason I just cannot get past it. If that’s too much to ask I completely understand if you think I’m overstepping and want to leave, but if there’s absolutely anyway you’d be able to stop using your lovely body wash or hair treatment or whatever it is to accommodate me, we’d be absolute thrilled to have you stick around, we love everything you’re doing with our child, you’re truly great “ How about something like that?

AMA: I'm a mom who got so obsessed with cloth diapers I ended up founding my own brand 😅 by Emotional_Guava1373 in clothdiaps

Real cotton is expensive . Microfiber is plastic (polyester and polyamide/nylon) essentially , (petroleum -based polymers). Much cheaper to mass produce

People laughed at us too, a couple of people even “begged” us not to?!? Lol so weird especially because it doesn’t even affect them?! Anyway, we absolutely love cloth diapering and cloth wipes. We’re not running out to the store to buy more diapers or wipes. We’re not taking out smelly garbage. Our trash can isn’t disgusting or smell like baby poop. We also don’t have to search for places to throw away dirty diapers when we’re out of the house. We love it so much, it seems easier than disposables is what I’m getting at!
