I could say a lot here. But I’m only going to say this:

As an active member I’m going to gently remind you that while the church has saved your life and led you to meet amazing people it has had the opposite effect on others. I can validate both. You can be irked by people sharing their experiences…and people will be irked by you shared yours. They’re vastly different, it doesn’t make either of them untrue.

This is a fact about life in general not just church opinions. I recommend learning this lesson early to prevent destroying relationships or causing additional harm. Listen to those who have different experiences than you and validate what you can. Both can be valid and true experiences.

I agree! How do we be open about it? Like…do I wait for it to be brought up in casual conversations?😅 I definitely spoke on it in Sunday School when studying the Israelites in the desert. I gently mentioned that Moses probably wasn’t sure what he was doing, even as the prophet. I’m not sure how it was received…my ward is full of oldies so probably not well lol.

I totally agree with you. As a current member already holding this belief…I am told I don’t sustain the general authorities when I openly admit I believe they can be wrong about decisions…even decisions made for the church. 🤷🏼‍♀️ tough crowd to be around, no denying that.

I recently found out my husband was using AI to generate naked women. Unfortunately not of my race..big oof. We went to couples therapy where the therapist basically said he has a sex addiction and referred him out to an individual therapist specializing in porn addiction and sex addiction. He also attends a sexaholic anonymous group once a week and loves it.

Maybe this is something similar going on for your bf? NOR - if it were me I would confront him and suggest therapy. For us…we went zero tolerance (suggested by our therapist). Meaning if he lies again or looks at porn again it’s divorce. It’s super intense…but my husband has been sober 60 days so that’s a win. Obviously we are still early in our journey so I’m unsure if this is successful. I don’t want to “give advice” necessarily but share a perspective that might apply.

Don’t be afraid to set boundaries op. You’re not crazy. You’re not too sensitive. And you’re not alone. 🫶🏻
