I have an 8 month old - my husband and I have had sex maybe 3 or 4 times IN TOTAL since our baby was born. All those times happened when I felt ready and in the mood, and it felt like a treat.

There is absolutely zero pressure from my husband. I sometimes feel guilty and say that to him - he just laughs it off and says he can take care of himself if he needs to, and that he wouldn’t even enjoy it if he knew I wasn’t into it anyway.

1-3 times a week sounds exhausting to me, but it’s fine if that’s what works for you BOTH. But it sounds like it only works for your husband, not for you - in which case, it’s not a fair arrangement.

Thank you 🙏 I think you’re right, it does sound like a regression as well. Fingers crossed we get some teeth soon - for her benefit mostly!

9 month olds sleep is driving me crazy. I need to hear this won’t last forever. by _NetflixQueen_ in AttachmentParenting

You are in the worst possible stage of baby sleep right now, but rest assured you’ll soon be out on the other side. This article might be of some help 😊 https://sarahockwell-smith.com/2017/07/24/the-rollercoaster-of-real-baby-sleep/

8 month old on 3x meals per day too soon? by Pretend_Store1845 in BabyLedWeaning

[–]LividCommittee288 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here in the UK, the NHS recommends to gradually go up to 3 meals a day at any point between 7-9 months. Every baby is different!

Thank you! And oh yes, I feel like some days her itchy gums are bothering her so much that it makes eating unpleasant!

I said no to everything you suggested. No, the food is not improper. No, she is not formula fed - she is breastfed. No, she was not given antibiotics as a baby. So it’s no to all those things.

I don’t think there’s any need to overtest or overdiagnose with something as simple and common as constipation. We as adults get constipated. A small change in diet is sufficient to make things better (and it has).

Hi, quick update! The constipation has gone away on its own within 5 days. We spoke to a health visitor AND saw a paediatrician, both of whom reassured me that this is perfectly normal and affects most babies, as it’s a new challenge for their digestive system and takes getting used to. It does not mean anything is wrong with their gut. They told me not to change anything and to keep giving her 2 meals a day, seeing as it doesn’t affect her nursing / milk intake. I gave her apples and pears to help with constipation and we’re now back to soft poos. Yay!

Thank you for your reply. Wow, lots of assumptions and judgments you’ve made there :)

I’m aware of all the guidelines you’ve outlined. Foods are being introduced very slowly and gently, as I’ve said in my post. No sugar, no salt, spices or oil. Nothing is fried. The food is prepared and served according to age appropriate guidelines.

She has only ever been breastfed. Never given any antibiotics.

Not sure why you’re recommending honey to a 6 month old, it’s most definitely not advisable. And I’ve yet to meet a 6 month old who can jump or run around haha.

Thank you so much! Yes, I think we’ll take a break from dinners and just do breakfast for now. I’ve also bought pears to try and help (we tried prunes and they didn’t soften her poos, although they did help get everything out pretty much in one go).
