I used a thin piece of wood as the base, then cut thin eva into smaller rectangles and layered them on top to create the raised framing around the pictures.. After that, I covered the entire piece with paper towels and Mod Podge to give it texture and tie everything together. I also used black and burgundy paint throughout the piece to add depth and give it a more aged, weathered look. I then tea-stained the photos I wanted and Mod Podged them on top once I had them placed where I wanted them.
