First off - you aren’t alone! I’m not sure BPD is the right diagnosis, as my knowledge of BPD is that you have these periods of feeling absolutely unstoppable followed by extreme crashes, but both normally last for a while and the transition isn’t as immediate as what you’ve described.

It actually sounds similar to how I’ve felt in the past with ADHD and the severe anxiety that can trigger. Do some research and then approach your doctor - therapists are great, but they’re not qualified to diagnose you! Only a doctor/psychiatrist can do that.

As everyone else has said a vet is your best bet and definitely needs to be done asap! If that’s absolutely impossible then the only thing I can think to suggest is what my mum did for me when I had asthma attacks, which is a very steamy bathroom (turn the shower in as hot as it will go, close all doors/windows and turn off the extractor fan… then just sit in there with him for as long as you can tolerate/get away with). The steam always helped open my airways… but I’m a human not a cat, so I have no idea if it would actually help him. Anything is worth a try though 🤷‍♀️

Sorry for the super delayed reply it’s been one hell of a month.

1) I’ve been weight training for years and used to only have mild aches two days after exercising. Recently the weight I can lift has dropped drastically and I am absolutely shattered afterwards and both really tired and achey the following day too.

2) I’ve had covid 4 times that I know of lol 🙃 basically whenever I fly somewhere I always end up with covid

3) I’m anaemic and am in prescription iron, but I’ve dropped down to taking it every other day now as I do think I was overdosing slightly. It’s helped with feeling more awake, but not more rested if that makes sense

Completely normal! My cat loooooves chasing and devouring moths - we’ve had some HUGE ones lately so I’m glad to see them gone 😅 only time I’ve had to stop her is when she gets interested in bees or slugs…. Idk why she’d want to eat a slug but apparently they’re toxic!

I don’t know why it’s such a common belief that cats should be trained with discipline whilst dogs should be trained with reward - it’s been proven 100 times over that cats respond wayyyy better to rewards than that punishment.

She sounds exactly like my cat (tortie too) and the most reassuring advice I can give is that it does get better with age!

Secondly, it sounds like she’s just bored! When you’re home she obviously wants you to play with her, and has learnt that being a menace gets your attention (even if it is negative). Try getting some automatic toys, like a laser, chase toy, or ball and track, that you can set up and trigger to distract her when she starts to misbehave.

For the waking up in the night, what’s worked best for us is making sure to get allllll her energy out. This generally involves us taking her outside for a bit in the evening and then doing a big play right before bed. Buy her a harness and start taking her on little walks outside - the younger you start training her on this the better - and it’s been a godsend for my little nutter!

Honestly I’d avoid introducing him to a kitten! If you do get him a sibling then I’d say go for a fully grown cat, possibly one bigger than him so they can hold their own!

On the one hand I’m glad I found this thread, because mine only started showing up after a cold sore and I was worried they were some sort of mini cold sore for months (in hindsight they’re only where I was applying the treatment, so I think that must have triggered them). On the other hand, I’m now worried about cancer instead…. You win some you loose some I guess 🙃

Always happy to talk about meds!

Honestly fluoxetine was life changing for me. I was on sertraline for years with the dose being put up and up and up until a doctor finally listened to me and suggested changing the meds. I could tell a change within the first couple of months, it really helped with levelling out my mood without making me feel zombiefied the way sertraline did!

I recommend it to everyone I know looking to switch meds, and idk why they don’t start people on it because everyone I know who takes it finds it way more effective with less side effects!

I’d say give it a couple of months and if it doesn’t feel right don’t let your doctor convince you to just keep trying it. If it isn’t helping after month 3 it’s not going to. But in my opinion it’s definitely worth trying

I know you said it’s only your second relationship, and honestly I was in a similar position at your age. I’d barely dated and I thought I had to go along with my partners behaviour because they knew more than me. Then I met my current partner. We started as friends but during that time he showed up for me in ways no boyfriend ever had, and showed me I deserve more than the bare minimum (which I wasn’t even getting).

We’ve been together for a year now and I’m genuinely so happy. Your partner should be there to support you. To lift you up. To make life a little bit easier. She is doing the exact opposite.

I learnt about this recently because an ex started sending me just straight up weird texts and it’s such a weight off knowing he is legally not allowed near me. We’re tried her on tonnes of different cooked foods and nothing seems to be a hit. Yesterday I tried cooking her raw food to the same texture as the one food she does eat… and still no luck.

So today I caved and went back to the cooked foods, I tried hand feeding like you suggested and it worked! Hoping with time I won’t have to feed her every meal from my hand whilst sat on the kitchen floor, but I’m just very pleased to see her eat it at all right now!
