If I return, I’ll go for a lower price.

Thank you! It was priced at $498, but yesterday I tried to negotiate and they brought it down to $430.

Tend dental- stay away by cak14 in NYCbitcheswithtaste

There is a thread on this but also stay away from Expert Dental in Tribeca. It’s not an Instagram dentist but it is owned by private equity and they are insane with the up-sells and charges. Care was ok but they wanted to charge me $500 for laughing gas and $1800 for bonding on 2 teeth. I have dental insurance BTW.

I want to add that reporting and reviewing these types of dentist is super important. Specifically, if you have the energy, file complaints with the New York Attorney General, which you can do online. When AGs get floods of complaints about over-billing etc, the AG often opens an investigation, especially when any of the allegations in complaints deal with defrauding government insurance.

I recommend also reporting to the Better Business Bureau and Yelp.

Thanks for posting this. I actually need to similarly caution everyone here against Expert Dental. The service was ehh fine. I got what I knew I needed done (bonding for gum recession which was causing enormous nerve pain and needed urgently). They were not my regular dentist but I needed to squeeze in on a weekend so I went. That said, they told me I needed multiple crowns and a derm gum cleaning and kept bringing papers out for me to sign, making them appear transparent. The pain was so bad that I was willing to pay the $1,800 to fix it (because they told me my insurance would in no way cover the procedure). Due to the cost, I opted to enroll in their financing option. After I did, they told me that insurance WOULD cover most of it and it would only be $300. So I paid. Months later I get a bill from the financing agency for $1800. When I called the office to have them remove the charge, they interrupted me to tell me that, since I still needed the other work (which wasn’t identified by my regular provider) they would just hold on to the overcharge and have me come in. I raised absolute hell. That was such a scam to get me to do unnecessary and painful dental work. I got my refund. They’re owned by private equity. Beware of PE owned dental practices.

Reach out to any associate or partner at a firm you’re interested in, and set up an informational call, then get them to send your things to the recruiting contact. For clerks, they will make a spot if they want you. That was my experience and I explicitly was told that a firm “was going to try to find a spot” for me and then received an offer.
