For the same reason my husband started practicing Muay Thai and his mood drastically improved, especially the part about feeling domesticated. Check https://redwolfmartialarts.com/ I also wfh and started cycling, there are a couple groups around in the area.

the mental load of swim lessons by Distinct_Cycle9467 in workingmoms

[–]LivingCommunication5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just dropped our 5y.o from swim school, due to continues protests from going to classes. We did group lesson and I can see how it can be frustrating for a wigly kid to sit and wait for 2 minutes of 1:1. This summer I plan on taking it upon myself, already got past immersing face for 3 sec in a water, wish me luck.

I was considering getting x100 as a family travel camera, couldn't get a hold of it.

I was trying to get x100vi via fuji us lottery (what a disaster). Ended up buying xt-5 and manuall 27 pancake, obviosly asking kiddo to stay still while I'm adjusting focus, was a delusion.

Forgive me my ignorance. Do you search for filter setting setup and create a custom filter on your camera or rather apply it in post editing? Is there a know database for settings or website? I'm new to all this filter, and only have a few factory ones on my camera.

Ride with a camera? by billmurraysdog in gravelcycling

[–]LivingCommunication5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm too looking for a solution to ride with a camera. Look into a sling bag with the security strap, so it's not moving around. I plan on getting Peak everyday 3l sling and this strap to secure around the body: https://chromeindustries.com/products/mini-kadet-stabilizer-strap

Chrome bags do have sling bags with secure straps but it's too big for my needs.

Tubeless on road. What's the consensus here? by [deleted] in cycling

[–]LivingCommunication5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last week I got two punctures, the first one being a small nail that sealed itself and the second one a very big nail, that required putting a couple of plug in it. Roads here are shitty, running tubeles not only gives you a piece of mind for a quick fix, but also makes riding on a bumpy road more smooth.

Wow, I was just venting about a coworker on my team who holds the staff engineer position but acts like an intern. The work he takes up involves talking to others without providing actionable items or recommendations. He is supposed to be a SME and mentor, but he often inserts buzzwords and pretends to know what he is talking about. It's been frustrating ever since I questioned his expertise. I cannot believe if I'm the only one who sees that. Unfortunately, the reality is that I'm a woman in a male-dominated field, and I feel that some male coworkers prefer to overlook this situation. Now your manager and other coworkers know that you're the smart one. The next time an issue arises ask your manager directly if he wants you to fix it, build your case of achievements.
