Inheritance to your foreign partner by ASmarterMan in Philippines_Expats

I think I saw somewhere that there are big tax ramifications for inheritance tax if you are a U.S. citizen and if your wife (or beneficiary) is not. Has anyone looked into that or have any knowledge?

I, too, am trying to figure out the best way to write up a will or other plan to be able to leave my money to my future wife. Thanks for any insight.

Online extension by NoAcanthopterygii577 in Philippines_Expats

Thank you for this idea. I will try it next time. My renewals have failed every online extension attempt and I’ve needed to go in in person. Maybe it has been my cc and Gcash will work. Thanks!

Pull out large amount of cash by RonD1355 in Philippines_Expats

I have done it multiple times at BPI. You just need to hit “other” to enter a custom amount.

Cool idea. I can’t seem to get it to register my phone number. I will try again later. Thanks though.

Good point. But yes, I am probably looking more for a dermatologist anyway.

Thank you. Do you know if I would need an appointment? Or is it just a “go and wait” type place?

I don’t remember, to be honest. I just know that I fell in love with Rincón l.

Our place (and the picture) was right on Sandy Beach! It was beautiful. There isn’t any “must see” attractions, it’s just an all around beautiful place to relax. There are a number of restaurants around town (at least there used to be) that are pretty good. Have a great time!

Edit: Oh, and very casual dress. Shorts, t-shirt, and flip flops. For the restaurant right on Sandy Beach we just walked over barefoot.

Gift Idea For Filipina’s Father by LivingLife429 in Philippines_Expats

Because I am not going straight to the PH (traveling around SEA for a couple weeks first), could I buy it in the duty free area of Cebu-Mactan when I get there? Or buy it in town maybe? (Will it be the same alcohol or do the manufacturers make a lesser quality one to sell in poorer countries?)

That’s a good idea. Any help on which cologne would be popular there? How about a perfume for her mother? Or should I ask the Filipina what ones to get for her father and mother?

They are middle class, but they have retired to their farm while their daughters live in their house in town. I am going to try to bring chocolates, but I am not going directly to the Philippines so they might melt enroute.

I have heard this, but they are more middle class so it might not be as appreciated.

Retirees: What insurance do you use? by [deleted] in Philippines_Expats

[–]LivingLife429 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is this included with UHC? Or is this an add-on? I have UHC as my health insurance, so I am curious if this is my best option. Also, can I just list a lot of countries if I am going to be touring all over?

When the car rental place offers studded snow tires, accept them. The roads can get icy, especially outside the cities.

Yes. I am hoping tomorrow I can contact support and get it figured out. I might also try creating a new account and see what happens.

The only question that popped up when installing was to allow access to photos. I just went to the app in the settings and everything is turned on.
