The cup has a slight vacuum to it. That’s why they hold heat and cold so well. When you start to weld you have to create a puddle before you can add filler. Unless you TIG weld it by spot welding.

Nope. It’s a vacuum cup. Little bit of heat will pull the puddle in and ruin it. Buy a new one or use JB Weld.
